HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-02-04-1000AM-Special1 ' t S , 1 ~ COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 4, 1981 G ' A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Brazos County Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1 30 P.M on Wednesday, February 4, 1981, with the following members of the Court present R J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, 'Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3, W A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance W R Vance Jeffrey K Brown Laird Palmer Rick Stalter Debbie Nelson Ritchie Priddy Phyllis Presley Jean Kiser Tammy L Pardi Kathleen Kimball-Baker Jim Thompson Attorney County Attorney Attorney KAMU-TV Battalion Battalion WTAW KAMU-TV KAGC The Chronicle KBTX-TV The County Judge opened the meeting and announced the purpose of this meeting was to consider the APPLICATION TO CANCEL MASSAGE PERMIT for MASSAGE PARLOR PERMIT issued to William T Brown doing business as ANNS SPA, Ann Brown, doing business as ANNS SPA, and MASSAGERS PERMITS issued to DEBRA JEAN LAWSON, JOHNNIE WINDER BRIMBERRY, CYRSTAL DAWN SHUGART, and MARY LINDA TAYLOR William R Vance was present to act as legal counsel for the Commissioners' Court Judith Werlinger, court reporter, was present to record the proceedings Travis B Bryan, III, District Attorney, was present in support of the application. VoL o PACt #9A COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - FEBRUARY 4, 1981 CONTINUED V®t-.Q,PAGE-7y.2 B William T Brown was present in person and represented by his attorney, Mr Laird Palmer Mr Bryan announced that an agreement had been reached for cancellation of the MASSAGE PARLOR PERMIT and all MASSAGERS PERMITS and that Mr Brown and all others named in the applica- tion waived all rights to apply for future Permits in Brazos County Mr Palmer announced that his clients did enter into such an agreement, that Mr. Brown will not use his property to operate a massage parlor or any other sexually oriented bus- iness and will not allow the property to be used for such purposes Jeff Brown, County Attorney, also confirmed such agreement. Commissioner Stasny moved to accept the agreement and cancel the MASSAGE OPERATORS PERMIT issed to William T Brown doing business as ANNS SPA and Ann Brown doing business as ANNS SPA and the MASSAGERS PERMITS for DEBRA JEAN LAWSON, JOHNNIE WINDER BRIMBERRY, CRYSTAL DAWN SHUGART and MARY LINDA TAYLOR. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously, whereupon the County Judge announced the motion carried It is therefore ordered that the Massage Operators Permit heretofore issued to William T. Brown and Ann Brown doing business as Anns Spa is hereby cancelled and the Massagers Permits issued to Massagers doing business under Anns Spa permit for Debra Jean Lawson, Johnnie Winder Brimberry, Crystal Dawn Shugart and Mary Linda Taylor are hereby cancelled.
