On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the minutes of the meetings held November 5, November 10 and November 14, 1980 without change. The Court next heard a request by Royce Watson represent- ing the Brazos County Firefighters Association regarding the purchase of communication equipment for the Volunteer Fire departments. It was the consensus of the Court to advertise for bids for the equipment needed The Court next considered Applications To Cancel Massage Parlor Permits for the Lion's Den, Lady T Massage Clinic, and Anns Spa, that had been filed by the District Attorney. After reviewing the evidence presented, the Court determined that there was sufficient grounds to hold a hearing on each of these applications to cancel the massage parlor permits and on motion by Commissioner Cooley the following dates were set as the days to hold the hearings- Lion's Den - January 13, 1981, 9.00 A.M., Anns Spa - January 14, 1981, 9 00 A M., Lady T Massage Clinic - January 15, 1981, 9 00 A M. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unan- imously On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to appoint Mrs Neville Clarke to the Board of Directors of the MHMR to fill the vacancy created by the death of Dr Sid Cox On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to reappoint Mary Jernigan to the Brazos County Child Welfare Board VOL-a-PAGE &a r ti_ -- -17fCOMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - DECEMBER 8, 1980 CONTINUED rf On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to reappoint Linda Tracy to the Public Responsibility Committee of the Brazos Valley Mental Health Mental Retardation Center. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to appoint Billy E. Beard to the Board of Directors of the Brazos County Industrial Dev- elopment Corporation to fill the vacancy created by the resig- nation of H L Cargill. The Court next acknowledged the Court Order appointing Mary Nichols as County Auditor for a two year term beginning November 15, 1980 A copy of such Order is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered the following bids for the sale of surplus equipment for Precinct 1 1. 2 - kton 1958 Pickup tricks On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to accept the only bid received, that being from Bill Elliott for a total amount of $75.00 for both trucks 2. 1 - 5 yard dump truck bed only Commissioner Stasny moved to accept the only bid received, being from Porterfield Asphalt & Gravel Company in the amount of $265.00. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimousLy. The Court next considered bids for the purchase of Road and Bridge materials for 1981 as follows 1 Producers Co -op Grade 1 No lead - $1 109 /gallon Grade 2 Regular - $1 069 /gallon No 2 Grade Diesel - $ 899 /gallon *Price increase or decrease to the Co -op would reflect to the County 2 K D Timmons, Inc Grade 1 No lead - $1 089 /gallon Grade 2 Regular - $ 972 /gallon No 2 Grade Diesel - $ 95 /gallon 3. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this order shall be recorded in the Minutes of the District Court, and that the Clerk of the District Court shall certify the same for observance to the Commissioners'Court, which shall cause same to be recorded in its Minutes.
