COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 14, 1980
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in
the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
8 30 A M on Friday, November 14, 1980, with the following
members of the Court present
R. J Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding
Bill J Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1,
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2.
The following; citizens and officials were in attendance
John Morris The Eagle
Tammy Pardi KAGC
Jack Cumpton Architect
William R Vance Attorney
The County Judge opened the meeting and announced that
the Court would retire into executive session to discuss pend-
ing litigations
The meeting was reopened at 9 30 A.M.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to adopt a Resolution
authorizing application for grant to support augmentation to
the District Attorney's staff, a copy of which is attached to
and made a part of these minutes
The Court next considered Requests For Change In Status
Of Employees as .Follows
Thomas V Kinerd, C P.A Auditor's office
It was the concensus of the Court to table this request No
action was taken at this time
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned

1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO SUPPORT
AUGMENTATION TO DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S STAFF

i + WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor, has
I y assisted Brazos County in its effort to 1-ope with crime by supporting
the augmPntation of the District Attorney's office with an assistant
prosecutor and secretary, and
WHEREAS, among the several program descriptions included in the
1981 criminal ,justice draft application for Texas is one which continues
to provide for personnel augmentations to prosecutor's staffs in Texas,
and
W[ILRFAS, the Speedy Trial Act, enacted b,7 the 65th Legislature and
which became effective on Joly 1, 1978, and the establishment of a second
district court in Brazos County has resulted in an increased wo►kload for
the District Attorney necessitating the continued personnel auymentation
of his staff,
IOW, THERLFORL, CE IT RESOLVED BY THE COi MISSIONCRS COURT OF BRAZOS
I COUNTY, TEXAS, at its meeting on the 14 day of November 1980

1 The County Judge is authorized to make application on behalf
of Brazos County to the Criminal Justice Division for grant
funds to provide for the continued augmentdtlon for the District
Attorney's Office

2 That the County Judge is authorized to accept on behalf of
Brazos Lounty such grant funds as may be tendered by the
Criminal Justice L)ivision
3 This Resolution becowes effective upon adoption and its recording
{ in the Minutes of the Commissioners Court is ordered
