COMMISSIONERS' z COURT , 57 SPECIAL MEETING s , 7 OCTOBER 27, 1980 l 7 � A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos 7 `r County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in L the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A M. on Monday, October 27, 1980, with the following members of the Court present R. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the plat subject to the following, 1 Tying the long cul de sac into Hopes Creek Road. 2. Addition of all necessary easements. The Court proceeded to consider the Final Plat of LA BRISA IV in Precinct 4. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously approved the plat subject to the following 1. Approval by the City of Bryan 2. Letter of credit for maintenance. The Court next considered the Final Plat of FROEHLING ADDITION in Precinct 3. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the plat subject to the following 1. Addition of drainage easements between lots 4, 5, 6 &7 2. Letter of credit for the construction of roads. The Court next considered an agreement between Brazos County and Allie Lewis for deferred compensation. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the agreement and notified the County Auditor to take necessary action A copy of such agreement is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered Certificates of Cancellation No. 10689 through 10694 for the Tax office On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously approved the Certificates as presented The Court next considered Amendments to the 1980 Budget. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to approve the amend- ments to the budget, a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Beginning on October 1, 1980, Lewis will become t, employed on a full -time basis by County as Bailiff of the 272nd Judicial District Court of Brazos County, Texas, a position for which an annual salary of $10,000.00 t ! Vt f r ! is authorized ($384.60 per two -week pay period), 2. Beginning January 1,\ 1981 and continuing through ' - December 31, 1981, should Lewis continue his full- time service as Bailiff of such Court, he shall be entitled to and shall earn full -time compensation i at the rate specified in the 1981 Budget of Brazos t County, Texas, as recommended by the Judge of the t 272nd Judicial District Court and finally approved by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas. 4. During the calendar year 1981, Lewis shall be paid at the rate of $211 53 per twb -week pay period (not to exceed $5,500 00 for the entire calendar year), And the balance of such full -tlme compensation as is earned by him during such year shall be deferred until the final payment date hereinafter set forth. 5. On the 5th day of January, 1982, Brazos County shall pay to Lewis the deferred portion of the compensation earned by him between October 1, 1980 and December 31, 1980, together with the deferred portion of the compensation earned by him between January 1, 1981, and December 31, 1981, without interest In the event of the death of the said Lewis prior to January 1, 1982, the deferred portion of the compensation earned by him, but unpaid by Brazos County, shall become immediately due and payable to Jeanelle Lewis, wife of Allie Lewis. 6. Nothing in this agreement shall in anyway limit or restrict the authority of the Judge of the 272nd Judicial District Court to appoint the Bailiff for such Court, nor shall this agreement vest in Lewis any employment rights not granted to other employees of County. The sole purpose of this agreement is to defer a portion of the compensation which would otherwise be earned by Lewis and paid by County.
