ing the county's budget to allow the public to see just how the
money is appropriated and spent
Mrs. Doris Klemm also commented on the condition of the
roads in the rural area and inquired as to the possibility of
pooling all monies for county roads and having a county engineer
to oversee all roads Mrs Klemm also asked if there were
federal funds available to improve the jail, courthouse and
roads, and if there was a pay increase involved in the increase
Mr Lonnie Locke was present and challenged the 56 percent
increase that was published, as being a true percentage and
asked if the $ 05 for retirement of the county's bonds was
part of the published figure
Mr Albert Newcomb responded to statements made by persons
in the audience who felt that the county should be receiving
sufficient revenue from oil to upgrade the roads He quoted
figures from his tax statements and stated that in his opinion
the county could not possibly upgrade the roads if the percent-
age received was no greater than on his tax notice
