PACE CA COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING MAY 27, 1980 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 27, 1980, with the following members of the Court present R J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, H. L Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3, W A Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Frank Boriskie, County Clerk The following citizens and officials were in attendance Michael R McClure Mark Paulson Christian Galindo Phylis West Phyllis Presley Mary Nichols Leanne Wakefield Tom Payne Kelly McCanlies Debbie Ramsey Gary Woodard John Morris Jeff Baun Garrett - McClure Engineers Paulson Surveying Galindo Engineers KTAM KAGC Auditor WTAW Brazos County Firefighters Assoc Citizen KBTX -TV Hamilton- Woodard The Eagle KAMU -TV The Court first considered Amendments to the 1980 Budget On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously approved the Amendments to the 1980 Budget, a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes The Court next considered payment to Thurmond & Stuart for work completed at the Regional Multi -Use Facility (Brazos Center). On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved to pay Thurmond & Stuart in the amount of $45,000 00 The Court next discussed a contract between the Texas Youth Council and Brazos County in consideration of Brazos 14 4' I } Y `J � I -- - — f AWL-, Alk- 1 •� � OMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - MAY 27, 1980 CONTINUED Y r County's undertaking to reduce commitments of juveniles to the Texas Youth Council, such contract to be for a three (3) month period beginning June 1, 1980 through August 31, 1980 After the contract having been explained by the County Judge and discussed, Commissioner Wilcox moved to defer action on the contract until further information could be obtained from the Juvenile Probation Officer Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried unanimously On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to pay fire calls to the City of Bryan in the ariount of $1,298 81 and to the City of College Station in the amount of $511 80 for the month of April, 1980 The Court next heard a request by Tom Payne representing the Brazos County Firefighters Association regarding expenses for Precinct 4 Fire Department and estimated expenses for radio installations On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously approved the payment for Precinct 4 in the amount of $363 17 and the cost of radio installation not to exceed $2,000 00, all statements for radio equipment to be approved by Tom Payne or 0 L Pate The Court next considered the Final Plat of PECAN RIDGE in Precinct 3 and the City of Bryan ETJ On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the plat as submitted The Court proceeded to consider the Preliminary Plat of LA BRISA, PHASE III in Precinct 4 and the City of Bryan ETJ On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously approved the plat as submitted The Court next considered the Preliminary Plat of UNIVERSITY INDUSTRIAL CENTER, PHASE I in Precinct 1 and the City of College Station ETJ On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously VO La -PAGa E !iaL z _ y � r , 41 COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - MAY 27, 1980 CONTINUED r VOLaPAGEz=q.. f P approved the plat subject to the addition of utility and access easements on the north side of the subdivision On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved authorization for Gus Edwards Company to install a three inch gas pipeline in the right -of -way of Grassburr Road in Precinct 3, a copy of such notice is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered the following applications for soil conservation work Dr H.
