REGULAR MEETING
MAY 12, 1980
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10 00
A.M. on Monday, May 12, 1980, with the following members of
the Court present

On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Cargill, the minutes of the meetings held April 14, 1980 and
,April 21, 1980 were examined and approved without change
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public
Weighers Bond in the amount of $2,500 00 for Richard McHenry
with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as surety
On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to reappoint Bill Cooley
to the Board of Directors of the Brazos Valley Development
Council for a three year term ending June 30, 1983
The Court next considere& bids for the purchase of fire
equipment The following bids were received
1 Claude Wright & Associates
2 W A Neel, Associates
3 Industrial Fire Equipment Company, Inc
It was the concensus of the Court that Commissioner Cooley,
Commissioner Wilcox, David Morrison and Tom Payne look over
these bids and come back to the Court with a recommendation
On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved Requests For Change In
Status Of Employees as follows

were unanimously approved as submitted

On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded
by Commissioner
Stasny, the Court voted
unanimously to pay
the Claims as
submitted
It was brought to the attention of the Court that Judge
A P Boyett and Judge Carolyn Hensarling had completed a
twenty hour course in the responsibilities of the office of
the Justice of the Peace as prescribed by law.
The Court next considered the Preliminary Plat of
PECAN RIDGE in Precinct 3 and the City of Bryan & the ETJ

There was a letter requesting the annexation by the City of
Bryan with this plat. On motion by Commissioner Cargill,
seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously approved
the plat as presented
Commissioner Wilcox next reported his findings on the bids
received for axle load truck scales His recommendation and
motion was to purchase a seven foot 100,000 lbs capacity scale
and a digital indicator in the amount of $8,600 00 Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Cooley and passed unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
