Home My WebLink About1980-03-24-1000AM-Special- I � fi' I �• .tip r � ti • � 1 111+ � F r � t i i i VOL-0-PAGE-Y-7a COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING MARCH 24, 1980 t A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A M on Monday, March 24, 1980, with the following members of the Court present R J Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding Bill J Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, H L Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3, W A Stasny, Commissioner of Frecinct 4 The following citizens and officials were in attendance James Smith John Sneed Phyllis G Presley Greg Moses John Morris Doug Rhoden Brian M Davidson Tom Sistrunk Leanne Wakefield Buddy Winn KAMU -TV KAMU -TV KAGC KBTX -TV The Eagle Texas A&M Student Texas A&M Student County Extension Agent WTAW Radio Tax Assessor - Collector The Court first considered a Resolution to initiate and promote a six -day county wide cleanup and beautification cam- paign in Brazos County called the "Home and Business Spring Cleanup Campaign On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to adopt the Resolution The Court next considered the reappointment of Dr Sid Cox to the Board of Trustees of the Brazos Valley MHMR Center The County Judge moved to reappoint Dr Sid Cox Motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried unanimously On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the payment of fire calls to the City of Bryan in the amount of $769 72 and to the City of College Station in the amount of $879 27 for the month of February, 1980 t t ;SIONERS' COURT MEETING - MARCH 24, 1980 CONTINUED The Court next considered proposals for appraisal services for Brazos County for real property the county proposes to purchase for the Courthouse expansion The following proposals were received 1 Dominy, Ford, McPherson & Teel - $8,600 00 2 Osenbough & Associates - $12,250 00 3 Daniels, Highfield & Associates - $6,300 00 Commissioner Cooley moved to accept the low bid of Daniels, Highfield & Associates and to enter into an agreement Motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried unanimously ' The Court next considered authorization to advertise for 1 4� bids for the sale of surplus property Commissioner Stasny moved to authorize the sale of the surplus property Motion �' was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously VOn motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously approved Requests For Change In C Status Of Employees as follows James M McKinney County Extension office W W Torrey District Attorney's office { Sarah Lynn Daniel Ryan District Attorney's office David George Jefferson Health Department Janet Ann McNutt Juvenile Probation office + Richard Schram Precinct 2 John Berger Precinct 2 Leroy Hosey Precinct 2 Leroy Walton Precinct 3 Leon W Henderson Precinct 3 C John St Clair II Sheriff's office Melinda Waldrep Tax office On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public Weighers Bond in the amount of $2,500 00 for N M Clary with United States Fidelity and Guaranty as Surety The-Court proceeded to consider the following Claims r f submitted by the County Auditor for payment u General Fund Claims 1001 through 1076 'r On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to pay the Claims as ' submitted .
