COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - MARCH 10, 1980 CONTINUED i ,iY y t � i J V0L,_Q_PAGE,�&k9 i On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the minutes of the meetings held January 14, 1980, January 28, 1980, January 31, 1980, February 11, 1980 and Feb- ruary 25, 1980 were examined and approved without change The Court next heard a request by David Morrison, repre- senting the Brazos County Firefighters Association, to utilize funds for the Fire Protection budget for the maintenance and repair of firetrucks in Precinct 3 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the expenditures in the amount of $228 94 The Court next heard a request by Sheriff Bobby Yeager for an additional deputy to serve as a Traffic patrolman on County roads Commissioner Wilcox stated that at this time there is no one to patrol the County roads and -that as,a' result many roads are being destructed The Sheriff stated the patrol- man would be specialized in traffic control and weight limits There may also be a need for an additional secretary It was the concensus of the Court for Sheriff Yeager to explore the cost of these additions and return to the Court The Court next considered a Project Notification Sheet to the Criminal Justice Division for 5th Year Grant Funds for the Foster Group Home This application will cover a one year period from June 1, 1981 through May 31, 1982 Commissioner Cooley moved to submit the Project Notification Sheet for 5th Year Grant Funds to the Criminal Justice Division Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously The Court next considered an application to the Criminal Justice Division for 4th Year Grant Funds for the Foster Group Home This application will cover a one year period from June 1, 1980 through May 31, 1981 Commissioner Cooley moved to approve the 4th Year Grant application and submit it to the Criminal Justice Division Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously k t l COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - MARCH 10, 1980 CONTINUED ,r The Court next considered a Project Notification Sheet to the Criminal Justice Division for 2nd Year Grant Funds for a Youth and Parent Intereaction Counseling Program This appli- cation will cover a one year period January 31, 1982 It is understood funded 80 percent by the CJD Grant to submit the Project Notification tice Division Motion was seconded carried unanimously U- from February 1, 1981 through that the project will be Commissioner Cargill moved Sheet to the Criminal Jus- by Commissioner Cooley and The Court next heard a presentation by Dr Miller, repre- senting the Brazos County Extension Planning Committee, on the beautification of Brazos County The committee has set April 1980 as the date for county -wide cleanup Dr Miller alerted the Commissioners that they will be called on to help One suggestion of the committee's was to haul trash to a central location and have the Volunteer Fire departments supervise the burning The County Judge thanked Dr Miller for his time and efforts The Court next considered a request from the Brazos County Central Appraisal District for authorization to begin appraising in January, 1981 Mr Vance, Chairman, submitted a budget for 1980 in the amount of $108,000 00 and requests each taxing entity to contribute their share The County's portion is 11 2 percent or $12,096 00 Commissioner Wilcox moved to contribute the County's portion and to amend the budget in that amount Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried unani- mously The Court proceeded to consider the Final Plat of DEDICATION OF EXTENSION OF INDEPENDENCE AVENUE in Industrial Park in Precinct 4 and the extra territorial jurisdiction of the City of Bryan On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the plat as submitted The Court next considered the Final Plat of LA BRISA, PHASE II in Precinct 4 and the extra territorial jurisdiction of the City of Bryan On motion by Commissioner Stasny, i / 1 __ �_--< .r +.• • -` i�`C� P � -.
