The County Judge brought to the attention of the Commissioners' Court that the Minutes of the Commissioners' Court Meeting held Monday, September 24, 1979, do not reflect the action taken on the final statement from Brazos Valley Nursery that was presented. Those minutes should be amended to read "On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the payment of the final statement from Brazos Valley Nursery in the amount of $7,869 71 for work completed at the Regional Mutli -Use Facility (Brazos Center) " On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to amend the minutes of the above referenced meeting. The next matter for consideration was the matter of setting the salaries for all County employees for the year 1980. Com- missioner Wilcox moved that the 1980 salaries for all County employees be set at 15 percent above the 1979 salaries The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill After much dis- cussion the County Judge asked Commissioner Wilcox to accept an amendment to his motion to set the salaries as scheduled subject to the submission of a Change of Status at the next Commissioners' Court meeting for those salaries above the 15 percent Commissioner Wilcox agreed to the amendment with all members voting Aye The Court next heard a request from Buddy Winn, Tax Assessor - Collector, regarding an additional clerk to be added to his department On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the additional clerk to the Tax office with appropriations being transferred from the Voter Registration budget. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously set the rate for out of county travel at $ 20 per mile r _ COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - JANUARY 14, 1880 CONTINUED VOL. .PAG1E Ygtp The Court next received from the District Clerk the names of all persons serving on the Grand Jury during the past twelve months and proceeded to draw names for the Salary Grievance Committee as follows Jo Ann Wade Joe Bonifazi Ann Sackett - alternate Brenda Joyce Grays On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the appointments to the Salary Grievance Committee. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to designate the following dates as official holidays for Brazos County May 26 - Memorial Day July 4 - Independence Day September 1 - Labor Day November 27 and 28 - Thanksgiving Day December 25 and 26 - Christmas January 1, 1981 - New Year's Day On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the appointment of Bernice Carter as Data Processing Supervisor Alternate The Court next considered a contract between Brazos County and Texas Voting Systems, Inc for election supplies and services. Commissioner Cooley requested authorization to purchase two (2) fire trucks or to accept one (1) donated truck and purchase a new motor for another truck for Precinct 1 Volun- teer Fire Department. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court authorized Precinct 1 to purchase two (2) trucks or one (1) motor not to exceed $4,000.00. • The Court next considered bids for the purchase of a vehicle for Precinct 3 The following bids were received Tom Light Chevrolet - $6,892 72 1 Lawrence Marshall Chevrolet Olds, Inc., Hempstead - $6,843.70 On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the bid of Tom Light Chevrolet and authorized the purchase of the vehicle.
