A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
` County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in
the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas beginning at
10 00 A.M. on Thursday, September 6, 1979 for the purpose of
receiving and opening bids which had been previously adver-
tised, with the following members of the Court present
R. J Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding
Bill J Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1,
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2,
H L. Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3,
W. A. Stashy, Commissioner of Precinct 4,
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk
The following citizens and officials were in attendance;
Pat Edmondson WTAW-Radio
John Morris The Eagle
William H McLeod Texas Voting Systems, Inc
Howard Cox Cox Paving
Bruce Kates KBTX-TV
The following bids were received
1. Bids for the paving of approximately eight (8)
miles of road in Precinct 1
a) Cox Paving bid $.25 for Prime, $.65 for single
course treatment and $.95 for double course
surface treatment.
b) Young Brothers, Inc. Contractors bid $.35 for
Prime, $.85 for single course treatment and
$1.10 for double course surface treatment
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to award the bid to the
low bidder, Cox Paving Company.

` a) Brazos Machinery Company bid $6,790 for a
Servis Flex 15
b) Cen-Tex Tractor Company, Inc. bid $6,725 for
a Bush Hog 315

COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - SEPTEMBER 6, 1979 CONTINUED
Commissioner Cargill moved to allow the Commissioner of Precinct
4 to purchase the equipment of his choice The motion died
for lack of a second, Commissioner Wilcox made a motion to
purchase the Servis Flex 15 from Brazos Machinery Company
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried
unanimously. \
3 Bid for 482 road signs of various sizes to be placed
on County roads
a) Smith Municipal Supplies Inc bid $13,068
b) Roadrunner Traffic Supply, Inc bid $7,566 69
c) Price "Barracade'~ & Signal Company Inc bid
$8,036.36.
Commissioner Cooley moved to refer the bids to the County's
Consultant for the Bridge Replacement Contract to determine
if they would meet state standards and to award the bid to
the lowest bidder if they meet all standards and delivery
date. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and
carried unanimously
4. Proposals for election services and supplies for
the Constitutional Amendment Election, November
6, 1979.
a) Texas Voting Systems, Inc,
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to award the Contract
for election services and supplies to Texas Voting Systems,
Inc it being the only bid received
There being no further business to come before the
Court the meeting was adjourned
