HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-05-29-1000AM-Specialr COMMISSIONERS COURT SPECIAL MEETING MAY 29, 1979 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas beginning at 10 00 A M. on Tuesday, May 29, 1979, with the following members of the Court present R J Holmgreen, County Julge, presiding Bill J Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, h L Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3, W A Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Frank Boriskie, County Clerk The following citizens and officials were in attendance Jerry Bishop A B Syptak, Jr George C Green Mary Nichols Buddy Winn John Morris Abe Messarra R L Peacock Jesse Montelongo D D Williamson Preston Jones Jeff Braun Jack Hodges Kurt Allen Jerry Bishop and Associates Sypcon Corporation Citizen Auditor Tax Assessor-Collector The Eagle Advanced Business Equipment News Office Supply News Office Supply M P 0 KAMU-TV KAMU-TV KBTa-TV WTAW-Radio The first matter to come before the Court was the consideration of proposals for office supplies for Brazos County The following proposals were received Engineering and Office Supply - proposed 15% discount off suggested retail price with delivery of all orders over $7 00 News Office Supply - proposed 15% discount off suggested retail price No minimum amount on deliveries Advanced Business Equipment - proposed 15% discount off suggested retail price with delivery of all orders over $7 00 0 V®IL PAS 7 { t , U COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING - MAY 29, 1979 VOL P-PTE After discussion and receiving comments from two suppliers present, Commissioner Wilcox moved that the proposal from News Office Supply be accepted, stating that it was the only one that did not stipulate a minimum order for delivery. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried unan- imously Whereupon, the County Judge announced that all departments would purchase office supplies from New Office Supply beginning June 1, 1979 through December 31, 1979 Next to be discussed was the realignment of Voting Precinct 14 The County Judge announced that due to the annexation of 73 acres by the City of Bryan the County was bound, by State Law, to adjust the lines of this precinct to follow the city limit lines After much discussion it was the consensus of the Court that this action be taken at the Regular Term of Court in July, which is the time set by State Law to change voting Precinct lines On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to adjust the lines of this precinct according to the legal description attached to these minutes at the Regular Meeting in July On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay the statement of Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc in the amount of $1,712 01 out of State Lateral Road and Bridge Fund for re- locating a power line on FM 158.
