J. Holmgreen, County Judge presidingi Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 11 Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 21 ; H. L. Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Tim Cummings The Eagle r The County Judge opened the meeting and announced that the only business to come before the Court was the considera- tion of the appointment of a Judge of the County Court At Law to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Bradley Smith as Judge of the 272nd District Court and that the Court would retire into executive session. I The meeting was reopened at 11:30 A.M. at which time the County Judge announced that the Court would accept written applications for the poV ition until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 10, 1979. The Court reconvened at 1:30 P.M. with all members of the Court present, at which time the County Judge announced i that the Court would retire into executive closed session to consider the following applicants for the appointment of Judge of the County Court At Law: i John M. Barron, Jr. James A. Amiss Jr. Robert B. Harris John E. Hawtrey Sarah Ryan Kent Caperton ' f The County Judge announced the meeting open at 3:15 P.M. and laid before the Court the resignation of Judge Bradley Smith as Judge of the County Court At Law. on motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Coolsy,, the court moved to accept the resignation of Judge Smith. The Court next considered applications for the appoint- ment of the Judge of the'County Court At Law. Commissioner Cargill moved to 4ppoint James A. Amiss Jr. as Judge of the County Court At Law. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried unanimously.
