HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-02-26-1000AM-SpecialAV I i I t COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 261 1979 A special meet~ng of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was hold in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 26, 1979 with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissione r of Precinct 11 Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; H. L. Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Mary Nichols County Auditor John Morris The Eagle Mruce Kates KBTX-TV Kenneth R. Harvey WTAW Daniel D. Meyer KTAM Craig Rogers The Battalion Dale J. Marsico Brazos Valley Community Action Agency Larry L. Wilson Brazos Valley Community Action Agency Cindy Colvin Texas A&M Journalism Student W. L. Goedeke Deerfield Est. Carrabba Leigh McLeroy KAMU/15 Bill Davie YAMU/15 The Court first considered an application from the City of College Station for authorization to construct an 18" water line in the right- of-way of Fountain Switch Road and Luza Road located in Precinct 4. Commissioner Wilcox moved to grant the application subject to the five conditions on the Notice and the contractural document page submitted to the Court. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried unanimously. The Court next considered an Exchange Deed by and between Brazos County, Texas and Takashi Ichiye and wife, Chiyoko Ichiye located in Precinct 1. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimous) I y. 1 " On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner a r f Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public Weighers Bonds for the following J. D. Conlee Richard McHenry N M Clary Weldon J Smith All bonds being in the amount of $2500.00 with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as Surety. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner 1 Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve Requests For Change In Status Of Employees as follows Cindy Allen George Wilbert Candy Y Baughman Justine Earp Timothy R Hemphill Wanda Rueda Pam Dean Civil Defense Janitorial Tax Office Tax Office Brazos Center Probation Office Probation Office On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay $600 10 to the City of College Station for Fire Calls for the month of January 1979. The Court proceeded to consider for payment the following Claims submitted by the County Auditor General Fund Claims 451 through 587 On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court voted unanimously to pay the Claims as presented. The Court next considered the Preliminary Plat for OAK TRAILS (forest Lakes, Phase II) in Precinct 3 Commissioner Wilcox moved to approve the Plat subject to the following additions 1 A Letter of Credit for the completion of Lakefront Drive in Forest Lakes and all roads in Oak Trails 2 A statement regarding Septic Tank Regulations VOL 0 PA- GEC Ir N ~ ~ ~ COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - FEBRUARY 26, 1979 CONTINUED ,V3L_C .{PAGF X20 Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried unanimously. !I !1 The Court heard a presentation by Dale Marsico, director of Brazos Valley Community Action Agency outlining the activities for the pi°t year. Mr. M.arsico gave a brief explanation of the services performed by the agency There being no further business the Court adjourned.
