M. on S Monday, October 9, 1978, with the following members of the Court present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Preicnct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2; H. L. Cargill, Commissioner, Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for September, 1978: William Sistrunk, County Extension Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent; LeRoy Grebe, County Extension Agent, Mable Walker, County Extension Agent; Wanda L. I VOL PAGE t rl~ I I ' ~ I, i 47 Y®L-t) PAGE 1 The Court first considered bids received for restoration of old records in the County Clerk's Office. The County Judge opened and read aloud bids received from Southern Microfilm Corporation who offered a price of $131.00 per volume for 220 volumes for photography, copy flo printing, binding and placing the restored volumes in the records rack. Business Records Corporation bid $138.50 per volume for the same service. After hearing a presen- tation by Mr. Bill Marshall with Southern Microfilm as to the ser- vices they proposed to perform, Commissioner Cooley moved'that the Court accept the low bid of Southern Microfilm for a total amount of $28,820 for restoring 220 volumes of records. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. The County Judge next laid before the Court a letter from the Brazos Valley Mental Health-Mental Retardation Center requesting the Court to appoint a person to serve on the Public Responsi- bility Committee and submitting their recommendations for the appointment. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to appoint Mrs. Linda Tracy of 2200 Southside, Bryan, to serve on the Committee, and that the term of office would be determined at the first meet- ing of the committee when all members would draw for staggered terms. The Court next considered a request by the Santa Teresa Catholic Church exemption from ad valorem taxation for the property known as lots 1,2,3,4,9,10,11 and 1/2 of lot 5, Block 2, Opersteny Addition to the City of Bryan. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to grant the request and exempt the property. Next to be considered was a proposal by Exxon Pipeline Company for ad3ustment of their pipeline facilities to accommodate the extension of FM 60. Such proposal was in the amount of $6,470 and to be 100% reimbursed by Brazos County. ' 1' t l Next to be considered were the following statements for work completed at the Regional Multi-Use Facility: Soil Mechanics, Inc. in the amount of $288.00 Thurmond and Stuart in the amount of $76,259.70 - On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay the above statements as sub- mitted. The County Judge announced that the proposed Budget for Brazos County had been completed and asked that a public hearing date be set, wereupon the Court set Monday, October 23, 1978, at 2 00 P. M. as the date and hour for the public hearing and ordered the following notices be published in the manner pre- scribed by law: c "NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING PLANNED USE" I Noticeis hereby given that the Brazos County Commissioners' Court will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 23, 1978, at 2 00 P. M. in the Brazos County Commissioners' Courtroom in the Brazos County Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, for the I purpose of discussing the planned use of Entitlement 10 Revenue Sharing Funds in the amount of $224,203.00 All expenditures of General Revenue Sharing Funds allocated 1 to Brazos County are to be used in compliance with exist- ing laws relating to the expenditures of these funds. Planned use of Revenue Sharing Funds are set forth in the Brazos County Budget for the year 1979 on file in the off- ice of the County Clerk All citizens of Brazos County shall have the opportunity to provide written and/or oral comments on the planned use of entitlement funds and are hereby invited to participate in this hearing. "NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON BRAZOS COUNTY BUDGET FOR 1979" Public notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, at 2.00 P. M. on Monday, October 23, 1978, for consideration of the 1979 Budget for Brazos County, Texas, filed with the County Clerk on October 10, 1978, and now remaining on file in the office of the County Clerk of said County, all in accordance with r law. Taxpayers and others interesed are invited and urge to acquaint themselves with said Budget during the time it remains on file with the County Clerk before the hearings' At the conclusion of the hearing, final action will be taken by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, for the adoption of the Budget for 1979, as finally agreed upon. I~ III i I Ir - III I 1 4l L {f 1 r~ rr I t , tr~~ , h 1 Y ' On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay $64.17 to the City ' of College Station and $1,234.09 to the City of Bryan for fire calls for the month of September, 1978. c The Court next considered a Memorandum of Understanding i between the Bryan-College Station Urban Transportation Study's 1 r Steering Committee, the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation, the City of Bryan, the City of College Station, and Brazos County in connection with the Planning Study Grant I from the Railroad Commission. After discussion of the Agreement setting forth the responsibilities of the various organizations, i Commissioner Cargill moved to authorize the County Judge to execute the Agreement on behalf of Brazos County. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously. The Court next considered Requests For Change In Status for the following employees: Rickie D.
