M. on Monday, April 24, 1978, with the following members of the Court present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; H. L Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; ' Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: I Andrea J. Vall, Battalion Eugene Smith, Producers Gas Co. Joyce Spagnuolo, County Auditor's Office Winn Sims, Eagle James Lee Jones, Steering Committee Boonville Cemetery Royce Watson, Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department Bruce Wiseman, KAGC Radio Jack Hodges, KBTX-TV Steve Stites, WTAW Jones J. Chaney, KAMU-TV James Smith, KAMU-TV The first matter to come before the Court was the payment of the County's pro-rata share of the Brazos Valley Development Council's 1978-79 Budget in the amount of $10,000. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny the Court unanimously voted to pay the required amount to the Brazos Valley Development Council. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay $1,050.00 to the City of Bryan and $1,677.18 to the City of College Station for fire calls made for the month of March, 1978. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public weigher's Bond of Teresa Gwen Johnson in the amount of $2,500 with Western i Surety Company as surety. Eugene Smith with Producers Gas Company was present and re- quested permission to lay transmission lines in the right-of-way i of Koppe Bridge Road and Batts Ferry Road. I I r' The Court next received a written report from the Steering ; Committee of the Boonville Cemetery Association recommending that ~I I the proposed Articles of Incorporation for the Boonville Cemetery I ' ' be approved by the Commissioners' Court. The report further i stated that the Steering Committee was in the process of selecting I ~ names to be nominated for the Board of Directors to be submitted j I , at a later date. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the a i , ` filing of the Articles of Incorporation for the Boonville Cemetery. t I , I The Court proceeded to consider bids for office supplies for + . Brazos County for the current year, noting that bids had been pre- r viously opened and referred to the County Auditor for evaluation } and recommendation. On the recommendation of the County Auditor and motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by commissioner Wilcox, f ~ Commissioners Stasny, Wilcox and Cargill voted to award the bid I + to News Office Supply as being the best bid received. Commissioner I Cooley voted NO, whereupon the County Judge announced that the County would purchase office supplies from News Office Supply for the current year. Beal Ford: $5,335 less $350 trade in for a total of $4,985, and $5,335 less $850 trade in fort a total of $4,485. ( After consideration of vehicles bid and trade in allowance, Comm- I issioner Cooley moved to take the low bid with the trade in for 1 both vehicles. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve Claims 989 through I 1,085 in the General Fund as presented by the County Auditor for payment. The County Judge advised the Court that the Brazos County Child Welfare Board has the use of a Master Charge Card for pur- chases in connection with Foster Care Children and that the Dallas f Bank that issued the card is requesting that a new application be i completed and filed with them.
