Porterfield, Citizen Mike Mahoney, Forest Lakes The first matter to come before the Court was the statement of Thurmond and Stuart in the amount of $37,727.10 for work com- pleted at the Regional Multi-Use Facility. On motion by Commiss- ioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted the statement as submitted. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to pay the statement of the Brazos Valley Development Council in the amount of $1,615.25 for the purchase of seven portable radios and seven battery chargers for the Sheriff's Department. ~4t On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay $2,250 to the City of Bryan and $1,561.91 to the city of College Station for fire calls for the month of February, 1978. The Court again disucssed bids for office supplies for Brazos County and it appearing that the bids submitted were still not clear to the Court they were again referred back the the County Auditor for further study. The Court next considered the following Change In Status of employees; J. The Court next discussed the method by which the County would employ a director for the Regional Multi-Use Facility. It was the consensus of the Court that there would have to be a poll made of other locations of salaries and discussed at a later meeting. The Court next considered the following Claims for payment as submitted by the County Auditor for payment: o General Fund - Claims 520 through 748 Revenue Sharing Fund, Claims 16 through 19 Probation Fund, Claims 34 thrgouh 49 Bridge House, Claims 15 through 21 Miscellaneous, Claims 11 through 17 County Shop, Claims 49 through 71 Precinct 1, Claims 41 through 61 Precinct 2, Claims 46 through 74 Precinct 3, Claims 43 through 58 Precinct 4, Claims 42 through 58 On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court unanimously voted to approve for payment the above claims as submitted by the County Auditor. 1:30 P. M. The Court reconvened at 1:30 P. M. and first discussed the possibility of selling a one acre of land at the Livestock Arena to the City of Bryan for a site for a fire station. Hubert Nelson City Planner for the City of Bryan and Fire Chief Van Huss was present and informed the Court that the City has plans of building several fire stationsin various locations in the City. After much discussion Commissioner Wilcox moved to table the matter until the next meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny with Commissioners Stasny and Wilcox voting AYE. Commissioners Cooley, Cargill and the County Judge voted NO. The County Judge moved that the City be notified that Brazos County would be willing and interested in considering proposals for the property. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley. All members voting voted AYE. 1 Vnt. 0 ,PACE 33.3 -I The Court next considered the following plats presented ~r for their approval: 1. Preliminary Plat of Peach Creek Estates in Precinct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commiss- ioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve the preliminary plat subject to the following changes: a. Removal of the 2 acre tract out of tract 1 b. Upgrade Vass Drive to County standards c. Mark the Reserved tract as tract 36 2. Pre-preliminary Plat of Forest Lakes, Phase II in Precinct 3. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Comm- issioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the pre- preliminary plat as submitted. The County Judge recommended that Brazos County appoint a liason officer to the Easterwood Airport Committee since Brazos County had previously voted to allocate $30,000 for improvements Y to the Easterwood Airport. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to appoint Commissioner Cooley as the County's liason officer. The Court next considered a request from the Municipal Utility District for authorization to lay a 6 inch water line and an 18 inch sewer line in the County right-of-way in Precinct 4. It was I the consensus of the Court that the matter be deferred until the ipleetxng to be held March 27, 1978, when a representative of the utility district could be present.
