COMMISSIONERS' COURT" F I' SPECIAL MEETING J' NOVEMBER 28, 1977 A meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, November 28, 1977, with the following members of the Court present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2; H. L. Cargill, Commissioner, Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. First to be considered by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, at a special term of such Court, the matter of the creation of a joint airport zoning board to exercise the powers author-' ized such boards by+the provisions of Chapter 391 of the Acts of the 1 Regular Session of ,the 50th Legislature, 1947, to adopt, administer 1 and enforce airport zoning regulations applicable to airport hazard areas in this county and it appearing to the Court that the City Council of the-City of Bryan, Texas, wLX1 enacts,its ordinance creating such a joint airport zoning board, to- a known as' the Bryan-Brazos County Joint Airport Zoning Board, and-which ordinance will expressley- make subject, for its effectiveness, a ,like provision being made by the respective Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, and it, further appearing to the'Court that the creation of such a joint air- port zoning board is in the public interest of this County: IT IS ACCORDINGLY ORDERED, that the Bryan-Brazos County Joint Airport Zoning Board shall be composed of five (5) members, two (2) to be appointed by the City Council of the City of Bryan, Texas, and two (2) to be appointed by the Commissioners' Court. The fifth member shall be elected by a majority of the members so appointed and said fifth member shall serve as Chairman of the said Bryan-Brazos County Joint Airport Zoning Board. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Walter Wilcox, and H. L. ' ';ri~`-''f %r'$~r' ~ ~'•~{ref' 1::, , Passed by a unanimous vote of the Commissioners' Court on motion made by Commissioner Cooley and seconded by,Commissioner Cargill. r, The Court next considered a written request by the Braver Corp. .rte. that Brazos County accept the roads in the WESTWOOD ESTATES Subdiv-. ision in Precinct 4. On'motion by Commissioner Stasn y, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to accept the roads. and authorized the County Judge,to forward the necessary letter of acceptance to the Braver Corp.. The Court next considered a request by W. T. (Tom) McDonald, District Attorney for authorization to submit a grant application to the Criminal Justice,Division of the State of Texas. Such funds if received to be used toward the addition of two investigators and one additional secretary to-the District Attorney's staff. After much discussion action on the request was deferred until the second meeting in December to allow the Court additional time to study the matter. Next to be considered was the payment of the statement of E. E. Merrell, Architect in the amount of $216.49 and Rio Road Builders in the amount of $18,668.68 for work completed on the parking lot at the Courthouse Annex. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by r' Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay both statements out of the Retired Road Bond Account.- On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to pay the statement of Texas Voting Systems in the amount•of $2,459.80 for reassignment of voters in the newly created voting precincts. The Court next considered the following amendments to the 1977 Budget as presented by the County Auditor: Elections ...................................$9,600 •On motion by Commissioner,Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to amend the.Budget accordingly. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the County Judge to execute an exchange deed for a portion of Mumford Road in preicnct,4. This action taking as a result of a written agreement made in 1973. VOLE pAcLE 933 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner, Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve Claims 2462 through 2533 for payment out of the General Fund. ,1:30 P. M. The Court reconvened at 1:30 P. M. and heard a presentation by Dale Marsico, administrator of the Community Action Agency on the services provided by'the Agency. This,presentation•was made for the purpose of informing the Court of the services performed by the Agency and required no action by the Court.
