M. on Monaay, October 10, 1977, 'with the following members of the Court present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;. Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; FI. L. Cargill, Commissioner of Preicnct 3; W. A. Stasr.y, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The minutes of the previously held meetings were examined and approved without change. , The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for September, 1977: W. T. N ..if»~ P ` The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Robert Luedeker, Aggie Bonfire Committee Bob Evans, Aggie Bonfier Committee Jane M. Smith, The Eagle Buddy Winn, Tax Assessor-Collector Stev Stites, WTAW Radio Mary Nichols, County Auditor Terri Choate, League of Women Voters The Court first considered a request'by Snowden and Meyers, Inc., representing the Brazos County Municipal Utility District No-o 1, for authorization-to lay two 2..inch waterrlines and a 6.:-.Inch sewer line across the Villa Maria Road Extension.' After much discussion conserning the conditions of the installation Commissioner Stasny moved to grant such authorization. Motion was seconded by Commissioner r - ' Cooley and carried unanimously. .The Court proceeded to consider a•request by. Marion J. Scamardo for authorization to lay water and sewer lines in the right-of-way of Finfeather Road. After discussing the conditions-of the'install- ation with Mr. Scamardo, Commissioner Stasny moved to grant the auth- orization subject to the conditions agreed to by the execution of the Notice Of Proposed Installation In County Right-Of-Way by Mr. Scamardo. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously. The Court next heard a presentation by Robert Luedeker and Bob Evans on-the progress of the Aggie Bonfire and was advised of the strategic dates scheduled for various stages of the work. A special invitation was extended to the Court for their attendance. Next-to be considered,was the payment of fire calls made by the City of Bryan and College Station. Oliver,*Precinct 1 Janice Kramm, Brazos County Health Department On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted to approve the following claims for payment as presented by the County Auditor: _ General Fund - 1964 through.2110 Probation Fund - 150 through 166 Miscellaneous Funds - 85 through 94 County Shop - 126 through 135 Precinct 1•- 209 through 229 Precinct 2 - 210 through 231 excepting 224 Precinct 3 - 155,through 172 j' Precinct 4 - 163 through 185 Bridge House - 28 through 35 Revenue Sharing 38 through 47 On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve Certificates of Correction numbered 23874 through 23819 as presented by the Tax Assessor-Collector. The next matter to be discussed was the appointment of a rep- resentative to the advisory board of the Arts Council of Brazos Valley. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted-to appoint the County Judge to represent Brazos County. Next to be discussed was the method in which Brazos County would participate in the unemployment program. After discussing the options available, Commissioner Stasny moved that!Brazos County select the reimbursing method by which Brazos County would reimburse the Texas Employment Commission quarterly for bennefits actually paid to former employees. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the advertising for bids for a lift for the County Shop. 1:30 P. M. The Court reconveened at 1:30 P. M. and reviewed the following. The Court reviewed the Plat and made several suggestions but took no action, suggesting that the Plat be resubmitted after approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the.City. of Bryan. 2. Final Plat of RAVENWOOD in Precinct 3. On motion by Comm- 'issioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to the following additions on the plat: a. Easement for drainage of cul-d-sac on Raven Drive. b. Show the acreage of each lot. C. Statement concerning flood plain. 3.' Preliminary Plat of CEDAR RIDGE was passed until the October 24th meeting. 4. Preliminary Plat of SHERWOOD HEIGHTS,-PHASE III, in Precinct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commiss- ioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to Arthur Lane joining the adjacent property. The Court next discussed an agreement for the Placement of Passive Warning Devices at Public Railroad Grade Crossings with Mr. B. G. Bockmon with the State Department of Highways and Public Trans- portation. After being advised of the type of markings that would be used and the crossings that would be marked Commissioner Cooley moved to authorize the County Judge to execute the agreement between the County and the Department of Highways and Public Transportation. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried unanimously. The Court next considered a request by Snowden and Meyer for authorization to lay water and sewer lines in all the rights-of-way r of Brazos County that lay within the boundaries of the Brazos County Municipal Utility District'No. 1. On motion by Commissioner Stasny,' seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to grant the request subject to the-conditions set forth in the Notice of Proposed Installation in County Right-Of-Way used by Brazos County. There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
