M. on Monday, June 27, 1977; with the following members of the Court present: William R. Vance, County Judge,-presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2; H. L. Cargill, Commissioner, Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Mary Lucille Ward, Political Science Student, Texas A&M Steve Stites, WTAW Radio Jerry Gray, The Eagle Jack Hodges, KBTX-TV Ira J. Lewis, Capt. Sheriff's Reserve Deputies Lolly Seger, PoliticalScience Student, Texas A&M Bill Pbary, Citizen Mary Nichols, County Auditor Bob Reese, Classic, Inc. Donald Garrett, Garrett-McClure Engineering E. E. Johnson, E. E. Johnson & Assoc., Engineering Gerald Farrar, A&M Realty The Court first considered a request by Ira Lewis, Capt. of the Sheriff's Resrves Deputies for allocation of $381.00 for uniforms for the Reserve Dupities. This figure representing the unexpended balance of the 1976 budget for this purpose. After discussion, Commissioner Cooley moved to allocate funds for this purpose and that a separate item be set up under the Sheriff's Department for this purpose. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously, Next to be considered were applications for soil conservation work as follows: Mr. Peyton Waller, 3320 South College Avenue, Bryan, requested approximately 8 hours of grader work to be done off Elmo Weedon Road in Precinct 3. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously-voted to approve the application and authorized the'Commissioner to do the necessary work. Wilson, County Judge's Office Annie Ruth Ware, County Judge's Office Pearlie Foley, Switchboard Eulala Ann Bice, Tax Office Dana Renee Pridgeion, Tax Office Teresa Lara Rivera, Probation Department Rebecca L. Wilson, Probation Department John David, Probation Department Jerri David, Probation-Department Michael Mahaney, Probation Department Joe Leslie, Probation Department Richard Casas, Probation Department Sherry Wortham, Probation Department After discussion and on motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve the following Requests: Angie G. Wilson, County Judge's Office Annie Ruth Ware, County Judge's Office Pearlie Foley, Switchboard Eulala Ann Bice, Tax Office Dana Renee Pridgeion, Tax Office Next to be considered were the following purchases for various departments: 1. A disc for the County Livestock Arena in the amount of $635.00;' 2. Purchase of 5 chairs for the Commissioners' Courtroom 3. Purchase of IBM Correcting Selectric Typewriter for the Civil Defense Office. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve all purchases. Next to be considered was a reqeust by Snowden and Meyer, Inc. for authorization to lay a 6 inch water and an 8 inch sewer line within the right-of-way of Villa Maria Road. The reqeust is for joint permission from the County and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve such application and grant authorization to lay the line in the county right-of-way. The next item to come before the Court was a request by Cummis- + sioizer of Precinct 2 for authorization to enter into an agreement with the Granada Land and Cattle Co. for the purchase of gravel. A copy of-such agreement is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The County Judge laid before the Court an Industrial Track Agreement between the Southern Pacific Transportation Co., Brazos County and the international Shoe Company regarding the maintenance of the crossing at Finfeather Road for discussion. No-action was taken on the agreement at this time. All members being present and on motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve Claims number 1199 through 1252 in the General Fund as pre- , , a sented by the County Auditor for payment. The Court next discussed the purchase of a front end loader by + Precinct 2. After much discussion regarding the amount of-money to be borrowed by Precinct 2 for such purchase Commissioner Cooley moved to increase the Budget for Precinct 2 by $10,000_to be transferred from the General Road and Bridge Fund, on a one time basis and to authorize the purchase of the equipment. Motion was seconded by c Commissioner Wilcox, with Commissioners Wilcox, Cooley and the County Judge voting AYE. Commissioners Stasny and Cargill voted NO,,whereupon the County Judge announced the motion carried. The Court proceeded to review the following Plats as submitted for approval: 1. Preliminary Plat of MATHIS CREEK ESTATES in Precinct 2. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to the following: a. Designation of the 100 year flood plain.- b. Construction of a temporary turn-around at the end of Jim Mathis Road. c. Statement of no further subdivision of any lot in the subdivision. 2. Preliminary Plat of TIMBER WILDE, PHASE II, in Precinct 3, presented by Bob Reese of Classic, Inc. On motion by Com- missioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to the following corrections: a. Approval of the REA b. Designation of the 100 year flood plain. J • c. Sixty-foot right-of-way on Weedon Road. d. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, ~c the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to the following corrections: a. Designation of the 100 year flood plain. } b. No further subdivision of any lot. c. Sixty-foot right-of-way. d. Utility easements. e. Approval of the REA ' S. Final Plat of OAKHURST, in Precinct 1. On motion by Commis- { sioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to the follow- ing corrections: a. Utility easement on Dowling Road. b. Temporary turn-around. i ! • c. Show adjacent property owners. d. Designation of 100 year flood plain. e. Approval of the City of College Station Planning and Zoning Commission. t , l 6. Revised Plat of VALLEY RIDGE, PHASE I in Precinct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject to the filling of a Bond for the completion of the • roads in the amount determined by Commissioner Cooley for ' ~~i a this purpose.
