'Having advertized for bids for equipment for the Brazos County Pre-
cinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department the Court porceded to consider all
bids received for the equipment. On motion by Commissioner Cargill,
seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to accept

A meeing of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos 'County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners',Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos
County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Friday, April 27, 1977, with
the following members of the Court present:
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
H. L. Cargill, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

Mary Nichcols, County Auditor
Mr. Joe G. Hanover, District Engineer for the State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation was present to discuss improvements
to State Highway 6 South. Mr. Hanover advised the Court that Federal
funds were available but could not be used on the existing right-of-way,
but there was a possibility of using State funds for the improvement
of the existing road. No action was requested at this meeting but Mr.
Hanover requested that some action be taker, in the near future. Comm-
issioner Wilocx moved to go on record as being in accordance with the
needs of the Highway Department and that the County would give support
to the project. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cargill and carried
unanimously.'

the only bid received from Claude Wright and Associates in the amount
of $7,098.27.
The Court next considered the pre-preliminary plat of TANGLEWILDE
SUBDIVISION in Precinct 3. No action was needed since the plat was in
the pre-preliminary stages.,
The Court next discussed the approach to the Power's Subdivision
off Finfeather Road in Precinct 4. Commissioner Stasny stated that he
objected to the three approaches that had been cut due to it being a
traffic hazard. Commissioner Stasny pointed out that there was a power
pole in the center of one of the turn-ins. The Court was advised that
the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation hadvrecommen'ded'"
the three approaches. After much discussion, Commissioner Cargill mooted
to authorize Commissioner Stasny to negotiate-with Mr. B. H. Bockman
concerning the problem. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and
carried unanimously.
Jack W. Cumpton, Architect, reported that the plans for the Multi-
Use Facility in the County Park had been submitted to the Economic Dev-
elopment Administration for their approval. At -the request of the County
Judge, Mr. Cumpton proposed to oversee the work at the County Park pro-
ject on an hourly basis at $20.00 per hour plus 10% of the constuction
cost, with the understanding,that he would not be responsible for any
a
of the previous plans or construction, and would work to coordinate both
projects at the site. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by'
Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to authorize Mr. Cumpton
to oversee the project for the fee proposed and work with the contractor.
The Court next considered applications for soil conservation work
as follows:
Clyde D. Sides, Rt. 3, Box 164C, Bryan, requested approximat&ly
3 hours grader work to be done off FM 2038 in Precinct 3.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the
Court unanimously voted to approve the application and authorized the
Commissioner to do the necessary work.
The Court next considered the statement of Spencer J. Buchanan and
Associates in the amount of $2,551.95 for services in connection with
the Brazos County Livestock Pavilion. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox,

seconded by Commissioner Cooley the Court voted unanimously to pay the
statement as submitted.
The Court next considered bids for seal coating five miles of road
in Precinct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of Cox Paving
Company in the amounts of $.40 and $.20 per square yard. The other'bid
received was from Rio Road Builders, Inc.
Next to be considered was a request by the Brazos County Municipal
Utility District No. 1 for authorization to lay a 6" water line one foot.

Yeuga Road, approximately 1,354 feet. On motion by Commissioner Cooley

seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to author-

ize the laying of such line conditioned on the following conditions:

1. That the Brazos County Municipal Utility District

No. 1 or-its contractor must notify,the Commissioner
' of Precint 4 prior to the beginning of construction
in order that the Commissioner might be on hand to i
designate the actual location of the installation.
2.- That the Brazos County Municipal Utility District
No. 1, or its contractor will repair all damage to
the roadway and right-of-way to their original. con-
dition to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of
Precinct 4.
3. That Brazos County reserves the right to require the
Brazos County Municipal Utility District No. 1 to
relocate or lower any such line at no cost to Brazos
County, should same become necessary due to the widen-
ing or lowering, or other alteration of the roadway
or right=of-way.

on motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the
Court unanimously voted to approve the Requests as submitted.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill,
the Court unanimously voted to reject the statement of Mansel's Wheel
Alignment in the amount of $25.00 for wrecker service for an appraiser
in the Tax Office.
With four members of the Court present and on motion by Commissioner
Wilcox seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court proceded to approve
Claims numbered 955 through 1077 in the General Fund for payment as
submitted by the County Auditor.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
