Vance,'County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cuoley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; H. L. Cargill, Commissioner of Preicnct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The minutes of the previously held meetings were examined and approved without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for April, 1977: ' W. T. Sistrunk, County Extension Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent; LeRoy Grebe, Jr., Coungt Extension Agent; Mable Walker, County Extension Agent; Wanda L. Pope, County Extenison Agent. T. McDonald, Sr. Alan Sayre, WTAW Jack Hodges, KBTX-TV Jerry Gray, The Eagle Martin Riley, Jr. Spencer J. Buchanan & Associates Mary Nichols, County Auditor B. J. Kling Judy Donaldson, KTAM-KCEN-TV Tony Jones Mark R, Paulson, Jerry Bishop & Associates r, .I 'i The Court first heard a presentation by Mrs. Margaret van Bavel, representing the Citizens of Historical Preservation, concerning the condition of the Boonville Cemetery. Mrs. van Bavel requested that all burials be stopped, except in the family plots until such time as a registration could be set up for all burials in the Cemetery. The County Judge advised Mrs. van Bavel that the County did not have ownership of the Cemetery,-that the maintenance had been inherited by the County due to constant neglect and it was doubttull if -the County had the right to stop or regulate burials in the Cemetery. Judge W. T. McDonald, Sr. was present and also expressed his . concern about the condition of the Cemetery and use as a public Cemetery. Judge McDonald requested the county to assert title to the Cemetery so that it would have the power to regulate burials and make it a historical site in Brazos County. He offered his serv- ices in writing the field notes and for the legal work involved. The Court advised Judge McDonald that they would accept his offer and would decide if, or when they would assert title to the property. Commissioner Cooley moved to notify all Funeral Homes that there would be no more burials in the Boonville Cemetery except in family plots. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. Preliminary Plat of OAK HOLLOW'SUBDIVISION PHASE II in Precinct #3. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat subject-to the following conditions: (a) Make temporary turn-around at end of Cargill Rd. (b) Elimination of two (2) 60 foot easements. Commissioner Cargill abstained from voting. 2. Preliminary Plat of BRIARCREST RIDGE, in Precinct #3 and the City of Bryan's Extra Territorial Jurisdiction, pre- sented by Southwood Valley Inc. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unan- imously voted to approve the Plat as submitted, subject to the submission of a letter from the City of Bryan, agreeing to inspect the construction. 3. Final Plat of GLENWOOD ADDITION in Precinct #1 and the City of College Station's Extra Territorial Jurisdiction, presented by Donald Jones. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unan- imously voted to approve the plat as presented, subject to a letter of guarantee to the City of College Station and Brazos County. The Court next considered a request by the Developer of Her- ritage Hills Subdivision to reduce the letter of guarantee for.. - the completion of the roads in the subdivision. On motion by Com- missioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unan- imously voted to reduce the letter to 10% of the original amount. The Court proceeded to approve the final statement of Jordan and Woods in the amount of $14,516.71 for work completed at the Courthouse Annex. After discussion Commissioner Cooley moved to approve payment after final negotiations with the Architect for amount to be withheld for work to be completed for installation of the sign. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and car- ried unanimously. The Court next considered the final statement of J. R: Loy, Builder for Construction of the Livestock Pavilion in the amount - - - _ _ y . Commissioners' Court, Regular Meeting - May 9, 1977 of 417,569.93. On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to pay the statement subject to the receipt of the warranties for the building and fi.na'l inspection by Commissioner Wilcox. Next to be considered were applications for soil conserva- tion work as follows: 1. Claude Rosier requested motor grader work to be done off Riley Road in Precinct #3. 2. Robert W. Toler, Rt. 5, Box 880, Bryan, requested main- tainer work to be done off F & B Road in Precinct A. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill the Court unanimously voted to approve the application and author- ized the Commissioners to do the necessary work. The Court next considered Requests For Change In Statue Of Employees as follows: Cheryl Beth West-, in the County Clerk's Office Lorenzo S. Alonzo, in the Sheriff's Department Jim Scherff, in the Tax Office Tommy Langdon, in the Tax Office- Kenneth Wakefield, in the Tax Office Gerald L. Winn, Tax Assessor-Collector Dorothy Marie Brown, in the District Clerk's Office Lynn Beicker, in the Tax Office On motion by Commissioner Cargill, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to approve'the requests as submitted. The Court proceeded to discuss a contract with C. R. Law, Tax Records, Inc, for compiling a delinquent tax record for Brazos County for the years 1939 to 1976 at a cost of $.20 per line. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court unanimously voted to authorize the Tax Assessor-Collector to enter into the agreement for such services. The final report of Raymond B. Buchanan as Tax Assessor-Collector for Brazos County was presented and unanimously approved by the Court. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public Weigher's Bond of Jenny Jo Graham in the amount of $2,500.00 with Western Surety Company of Dallas as security. The Court next considered a request by Jimmie T. Gray, Constable of Precinct'# 3 for authorization to appoint two auxilliary deputies. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Cargill, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the Constable to appoint two certified auxilliary deputies at no cost to Brazos County. There being no further business at this time the Court recessed until 2:00 P.
