COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 23, 1976
A meeting of the•Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas,
was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 11:00 A. M. on Thursday, December
23, 1976, with the following members of the Court present-:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J.Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:
James W. Stegall, Brazos County Youth Livestock Assn.
Bobby J. Cargill, Brazos County Youth Livestock Assn.
Cliff Dobson, Robert Butler, Co.
Ron Cruse, Cruse Corp.
Mervin Peters, Chamber of Commerce
E. J. Burkhart, Spencer Buchanan and Associates, Inc.
Tom Sistrunk, County Agent
Buddy Winn, County Appraiser, Tax Office
Art King, Chamber of Commerce.
The Court considered the following bids for construction of a
pavilion at the Brazos County Livestock Arena:
Robert Butler, Co., base bid $76,345, construction time 84 days
Jordan and Woods, base bid $84,442, construction time 100 days
J. R. Loy Builders, bise bid $60,326, construction time 90 days
After carefuly consideration of all bids received, Commissioner Wilcox
moved that the contract be awarded to J. R. Loy Builders, provided that,
after further study by the Engineer, it was found that all materials
to be used met all standards as set forth in the specifications.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
