COMMISSIONERS' COURT
REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 8, 1976
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00
A. M. on Monday, November 8, 1976, with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The minutes of the previously hell meetings were examined
and approve without change.
The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted
the following reports for October, 1976:
W. T. Sistrunk, County Extension Agent;
Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent;
LeRoy Grebe, Jr., County Extension Agent;
Mable Walker, County Extension Agent;
Wanda L. Pope, County Extension Agent.
The Court received, considered and approved the following
reports from County and Precinct Officers showing official fees
of office collected and remitted to the County Treasurer according
to duplicate copies of the Treasurer's official receipts attached
thereto:

The following citizens and officials were.in attendance;

Alan Sayre, WTAW Radio
Franklin Castanon, Observer
The Court proceeded to canvass the results of the General
Election and Constitutional Amendment Election held November 2, 1976,
and accepted as true the cumulative county-wide totals prepared by
the Central Counting Station, together with write-in votes tab-
ulated therewith, and ordered the results certified to the Secretary
of State of the State of Texas and recorded in the Offical Election
Records of Brazos County, Texas, Volume E, page 13.
Next to be considered was the statement of E. E. Merrell, Jr.,
Architect in the amount of $387.53 for services in connection with
the remodeling of the Courthouse Annex and the statement of Jordan
and Woods, Contractors, in the amount of $21,829.18 for work com-
pleted at the Courthouse Annex. On motion by Commissioner Cooley,
seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay
both statements.
The County Judge laid before the court a proposal by Spencer
Buchanan and Associates,, Inc. for supervision of the construction
of the Livestock Pavilion on an actual time envolved basis at
$16.35 per hour. Action on this proposal was deferred until' such
time as the letting of the contract for the construction of the
pavilion. Further consideration was given to the cost of the pre-
paration of the specifications for the Livestock Pavilion by Spencer
Buchanan and Associates, Inc. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox,
seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to pay
the repoduction cost of the specifications.
The Court next discussed rates to be charged for the use of
the Livestock Arena as presented by the Brazos County Youth Live-
stock Association. After discussion action was deferred until
members of the Adult 4-H Leaders, F.F.A, and other interested groups
could be notified and be present.
Next to be discussed was a preliminary Plat of VALLEY RIDGE
SUBDIVSION, PHASE I, in Precinct 1. It was the consensus of the

-Court that a more detailed plat would have to be submitted before
action could be taken.
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner W~lcox#
the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public Weighers' Bond of
John Rankin Mahan in the amount of $2,500 with Western lurety Co.;as
surety.
All members being present the Court proceeded to approve the
following claims as presented by the County Auditor for payment:

On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny,
the Court unanimously voted to pay the above claims as submitted.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
The foregoing minutes were examined in open Court and approved
on this ~3th day of pecember 1976.
