OCTOBER 8, 1976
A meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County,.Texas,
was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, Courthouse, Bryan, Brazos
County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Friday, October 8, 1976,,
with the following members of the Court present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner, Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4;
The Commissioners' Court having earlier opend and examined bids
for the construction of Phase I of the Brazos County Park, proceeded
to the award of the contract. On motion by Commissioner Cooley,
seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to award
the contract for the construction of Phase I of the Brazos County
Park to Bryan Construction Co. in the amount of $86,000 with work to
be completed within 180 days.
Mr. Rusty Dickerson with Page Southerland Page was present to
present an adendum to the proposal for a study of the Brazos County
correctional facility showing a further breakdown of the study of
a multi-county facility. After reviewing the revised proposal Com-
missioner Cooley moved to accept the proposal of Page Southerland
Page and award the contract to that company. A further motion was
made to authorize the County Judge to execute the contract as amended.
Both motions were seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously.
Next to be considered were bids for two 1/2 ton pick-up trucks
for Precinct 2. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Com-
missioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of
Pharis-Wilkinson, Inc. in the amount of $4,633.00 for two GMC 1/2
ton pick-up trucks. Other bids received were from Corbusier Chevrolet.
The Court next considered a request from Dick Munday, for author-
ization to appoint a deputy constable for Precinct 4 at no cost to

Brazos County. After discussion, Commissioner Stasny moved to grant
authorization for the appointement of one deputy constable for Precinct
4. Motion was seconded by the County Judge and carried unanimously.
Next to be considered was a statement from E. E. Merrell in the
amount of $264,07 and Jordan and Woods in the amount of $14,850,63
representing partial payment of the contract for remodeling of the
Courthouse Annex. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Com-
missioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay both statements,
with monies to be paid out of the Revenue Sharing Fund,
Having advertised for bids at an earlier date, the Court pro-
ceeded to discuss the sale of an inoperable 1973 Pontiac car, On
motion by Commissioner Stasny seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the
Court unanimously voted to sell such automobile to Emmett Caldwell for
$325.00. This being the only bid received.
Next to be considered were bids for a dump truck for Precinct 4.

On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the
Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of Twin City International
in the amount of $10,493.22. The other bid received was from Corbusier
Chevrolet.
There being no further business,
the Court adjourned.
