I •eaT~..~_~ ~ `~1~; ~.1~j•'~•1'1'T'.'I~ J..,~'~'`~G~I VGL A/ PAGE COMMISSIONERS' COURT,._ SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 5, 1976 A meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos,County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, Courthouse,,Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 4:00 P. M. on Tuesday, October 5, 19760 with the following members of the Court present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Weldon Jordan, Jordan & Woods Bill Dukes, R. B. Butler, Inc. Bud Cargill, Observer E. W. Revier, Bryan Construction Co. The first matter to come before the Court were bids for construction of Phase I of the Brazos County Park. The County Judge opened and read aloud bids received from the following contractors: 1. Bryan Construction Co. 2. Joran and Woods 3. R. B. Butler, Inc. 4. Sentry Construction Co. 5. Marcal, Inc. The County Judge announced that all bids received were in the proper order with bid bonds attached, however, all proposals were over the budgeted amount. All members present expressed a desire to study the proposals further so the County Judge announced the date for the award of the contract to be October 8, 1976, at 10:00 A. M. There being no further business, the Court recessed until Wed- nesday, October 6, 1976 at 3:00 P. M. at such time to reconvene for the purpose of enterviewing three firms that had submitted proposals to Brazos County for a dentention facility. October 6, 1976 The Commissioners' Court reconvened on Wednesday, October 6, 1976, at 2:00 P. M. in the Commissioners' Courtroom with the following 7 -11- 1.7 .a members present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner, Precinct 3. The Court heard a presentation from each of the following companies on proposals that they had made for a study of the Brazos County detention facility and the feasibility of a multi-county detention facility: Page Southerland Page Jessen Associates, Inc. Prindle, Patrick and Partners. r After hearing all presentations and discussion, Commissioner Sims moved to authorize the County Judge to negotiate further with Page Southerland Page. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley, with all members present voting AYE.
