COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL MEETING

A meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas,
was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00 A. M. on Friday, August 27,
1976, with the following members of the Court present:
William R. Vance,'County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner, Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:
Harry L. Jones, The Braver Corp.
Evelyn Lowery, The Braver Corp.
Ronald J.Newton, Westwood Homeowners, Assoc.
Marilyn rarguson, contemporary Landscape Services
Margaret van Bavel, Visitor
Robert F. White, Visitor
Timothy W. Keneipp, Keneipp and Assoc. Architects
Mark E. Ferguson, Contemporary Landscape Service
Ramiro Galindo, The Braver Corp.
Allan W. Hanson, City National Bank
Having received and opened bids on August 24, 1976, for the
remodeling of the Courthouse Annex, the Court proceeded to the award

of the contract for such work. On motion by Commissioner Stasny,
seconded by Commissioner Sims the Court unanimously voted to award
the contract to Jordan & Woods and instructed-the architect to pre-
pare the necessary contract. Such construction work to be completed
within 135 working day and at a cost of $133,963.00.
The Court next considered a request from Lone Star Gas Co. for
authorization to instal gas lines four feet behind the curb within
the right-of-way of the streets in the Westwood Estates Subdivision.
After much discussion and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded
by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to authorize Lone
Star Gag Company to install such lines subject to the following
gonditions:

1. That Lone Star Gas Company secure the approval of the
Commissioner in whose precinct the work is to be done
as to the location of the actual work, such approval
to be obtained prior to the beginning of actual con-
struction.
2. That Lone Star Gas Company repair all demage done to
any road by reason of such construction and restore
the road and right-of-way to its condition prior to
construction, and cause any contractor employed by it
to do likewise.
3. That Brazos County reserve the right to require the
Lone Star Gas Company to relocate any such line at
no cost to Brazos County, should same.become necessary
due to the widening, lowering, or other alteration of
the road or right-of-way.
'.f 4. That Brazos County will in ho way be responsible for
any damage that might occur to any existing utility
lines in the right-of-way.
Several property owners in the Westwood Estates Subdivision
were present to discuss the clearing of the rights-of-way in the
subdivision. The County Judge advised the group that it was his
understandin% and that %,f the Court, t:iat the dis:,ussion at ;:his
time with Mr. Galindo was concerning regulations of a different
subdivision and this matter had not been posted on the agenda and
no action could be taken at this time. The Court did hear state-
ments from the interested parties but no action was taken at this
meeting on the matter.
There being no further business the Court adjourned.
