P1. on Monday, July 12, 1976, with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The min Les of the previously held meetings were examined and approve without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for June, 1976: W. T. Sistrunk, County Extension Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent; LeRoy Grebe, Count Extension Agent Mable Walker, County Extension Agent; Wanda L. Pope, County Extension Agent. CJ r . l f The first item to come before the Court was a request by the maintenance superviosr to hire another full time janitor. After some discussion the County Judge recommended that the matter be deferred until budget time. All members of the Court agreed. All members being present as required by law, the Court pro- ceeded to set the tax rate for the year 1976, to be applied in the collection of taxes due on October 1, 1976. After discussion, Commissioner Sims moved that the ad valorem tax rate for all prop- erty on the tax rolls of Brazos County, Texas be set as follows: General Fund Road and Bridge Total Road and Bridge Debt Service Total $ .72 .23 $ .95 .10 $1.05 per $100.00 assessed valuation Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox. and Sims and the County Judge voted "AYE". and Wilcox voted "NO", whereupon the County the motion had carried and the tax rate set by adopted for the year 1976 and hereby lev erty in Brazos County, Texas. Commissioners Codley Commissioners Stasny Judge announced that for the above is here- ied against all prop- On motion by Commissioner Cooley, Seconded by Commissioner e Sims, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Public Weighers bond of Homer B. Adams in the amount of $2,500.00 with United States Fidelity and Guarantee as surety. Next to be considered was the correction plat of Westwood Estates. Action on this plat was deferred pending a discussion between the developer and the Commmissioner of Precinct 4 concerning the condition of the streets in the subdivision. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to appoint election judges and alternate election judges for the current voting year, a copy of the list of appointments being attached to these minutes and incorportated herein by reference. Elkins, County Treasurer for permission to work the secretary in that office. 30 hours per week for the next 3 weeks beginning July 12th. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to grant such request. On motion by Commissioner eooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court unanimously voted to pay $113.00 to the Bryan Utilities for service to the Livestock Arena. All members being present, the Court proceeded to approve J, the following claims for payment as presented by the County Auditor: Miscellaneous General Fund Probation Fund Shop Precinct 1 Precinct 2 Precinct 3 Precinct 4 Claims - 121 through 132 Claims - 1035 through 1101 Claims - 91 through 108 Claims - 62 through 77 Claims - 141 through 161 Claims - 114 through 130 Claims - 93 through 112 Claims - 97 through 115 On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to pay the above claims as submitted. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to ammend the environmental Protection budget an additional $3,000.00.
