=;A meeting of the Commissioners'-Court of Brazos County, Texas,.
was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
'Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday,June 28, 19768
with the following members of the Court present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

The Court first considered the request of the Brazos County
Senior Citizens Assn., Inc.on allocation of funds in the amount of
$50,000.00 from Revenue Sharing Funds. The County Judge recommended'
that the sum of $30,000.00 be allocated, to be held by Brazos County
and expended on behalf of the Senior Citizens Assn. for purposes for
which Revenue Sharing funds are authorized. It was pointed out that
Revenue Sharing funds allocated to private organizations are still
subject to the same restrictions on expenditures as are funds remaining
in the hands of the County. Commissioner Sims moved that the recommend-
ation be adopted and the funds so allocated.- Motion was seconded by

Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously.
' The Court next considered the statement of South/West Planning
Associates in the amount of $975.00 for professional. services in
connection with the County's Community Development application. On
motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the
Court unanimously voted to approve the payment of such statement. `

Next to be considered were applications for soil conservation
work as follows:
John Godfrey, Rt: 3, Box 189H requested 5 hours dozer work
to be done on Steep Hollow Circle, in Precinct 3, with work
to be done by Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Billy Walters, 502 West 26th St., Bryan, requested 3 hours
dozer work to be done at Oak Forest Estates in Precinct 3,
with work to be done by Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Paul A. Kunz, 4205 Woody Lane,,Bryan, requested 4 hours
dozer work to be done at Oak Forest Estates in Precinct 3
with work to be done by Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Labarbera requested 7 hours work to be done at Steele
Store in Precinct 4,
On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the
Court unanimously voted to approve such applications and authorized
the Commissioner to do the necessary work.
The Court next considered the request of Bill Elkins, County
Treasure for car allowance in the amount of $25.00 monthly. After
some discussion, the matter was deferred pending negotations with the
First National Bank for the pick up of the deposits for the various
offices in the courthouse.
Next to be considered were bids for two typewriters for the Tax
Assessor-Collectors Office... On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded
by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to accpet the bid
of IBM in the amount of $562.50 each for two Model 835 Selectric II
typewriters with 15.5 inch carriage. Other bids received were from
Mike Mistovich Business Machines and Otis McDonald's.
On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny,
the Court unanimously voted to authorized the Veterans Service Office
to attend the statewide conference in San Antonio, September 12th
through the 16th.
The Court next discussed amendments to the Environmental Protection
Fund of the 1976 Budget. After some discussiori Commissioner Sims moved
that the account be amended to a total amount of $32,221.59. Motion
was seconded by Commissioner Cooley, with Commissioners Sims, Stasny,
Cooley and the County Judge voting "AYE". Commissioner Wilcox voted
"NO", whereupon the County Judge announced the motion carried and the

Frank Metzer was present to discuss ; the purchase - of miscellaneous
''tools for use at the Livestock Arena. Having received only one bid
" the Court appointed Commissioner Wilcox to secure other bids before
making the,purchase. Mr. Metzer requested financial assistance to
,pay the employee who maintains the grounds at the Livestock Arena.
He reported that the facility is not being utilized enought to pay
the salary of this employee. Commissioner Wilcox moved that the sum
of $1,000.00 be transferred to the Livestock Arena Account #04051408

for this purpose. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley, with
Commissioners Cooley, Sims, Stasny and the County Judge voting "AYE".

! Commissioner Sims voted "NO".
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Stasny,
the Court unanimously voted to pay Claims 938 through 1031, excepting
Claim 985 out of the General Fund.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
