COMMISSIONERS' COURT.
SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 26, 1976
A meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas,
was held in the commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
tBrazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, April 26,
1976, with the following members present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner, Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner, precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner, Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were present:
Ray Abbott, South/West Planning Assodiates
Jane Cash, League of Women Voters
June Bonarrigo, Reporter for the Eagle _
Mary Nichols, County Auditor.
First to be considered was the County's full application to
DHUD for a Community Development Block Grant, second year funding.
Judge Vance advised the Court that Brazos County had been notified
of a modification of funding and that Brazos County would be in
line for $31,000.00 instead of $101,000.00 as previously advised.
On the recommendation of the County Judge and on motion by Commiss-,
foner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously
voted to submit a full application to DHUD for the $31,000 grant
but to make no more applications.
Next to be considered were applications for soil conservation
work as follows:
Harry Stitler, Route 3, Box 189, Bryan, requested approximately
6 hours work to be done 7 miles east of Bryan in Precinct 3.
On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox,
the Court unanimously voted to approve such application and author-
ize the Commissioner to do the necessary work.
All members being present and on motion by Commissioner Sims,
seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to
approve General Fund Claims 630 through 676 omitting 675 as presented
by the County Auditor for pay

At this time the Court recessed to reconvene at a later date
to appoint a Manager for Central Counting for all.County wide elections.
