M. on Monday, March 8, 1976, with the following present: i 1 William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. } The minutes of the previously held meetings were examined and approve without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted v r - the following reports for February, 1976: W. T. Sistrunk, County Extension Agent; J Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent; Douglas Presley, County Extension Agent; Mable Walker, County Extension Agent; Wanda L. Pope, County Extension Agent. Buchanan, Tax Assessor Collector John Colem, KBTX Television First to be considered was a request made by Albert E. Newcomb, with the Brazos County Fire Ant Control association for financial assistance in the amount of $1,890.40 for the payment of an invoice from the Texas Department of Agriculture for poision. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims the Court unanimously voted to assist in the payment of the invoice. The Court next considered the re-plat of WESTWOOD ESTATES in Precinct 4, submitted by the Braver Corpt. After some discussion and on motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, .the Court unanimously voted to approve the re-platted subdivision as submitted. Martin Riley was present to submit a plat of HERRITAGE HILLS SUBDIVISION, in precinct 4 for preliminary approval. After much discussion the Court agreed to delay approval until the March 22nd meeting when more information could be submitted on the erosion problem in that area and the lots in the flood plain area. Next to be considered was a proposal by the Research Foundation at Texas A&M University for an Archeological Survey of the Brazos County Regional Multi-Use Facility site for a total cost of $121.00. Having been advised by the Texas Historical Commission that this was a necessary step in applying for a grant through the Economic Development Administration, Commissioner Sims moved to accept the proposal. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. Sheriff Hamilton was present to request permission to order 120 prisioner uniforms from the Texas Department of Corrections at a cost of $6.00 per uniform. On motion by Comm- issioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unan- imously voted to accept the bid of IBM and purchase two (2) Model 833 Selectric II typewriters for the County Clerk's Office and one (1) Model D. Standard typewriter for the District Clerk's Office. Other bids received were from Otis McDonald's. The Court proceeded to consider bids for file cabinets for Tax Assessor Collectors Office. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of Engineering and Office Supply and purchase two (2) Cole Card filed No. 1234L in the amount of $169.69 each and one (1) check draft file #1209L in the amount of $162.24 each. The other bid received was from News Office Supply in the amount of $268.52 and $504.90. Bids for office supplies for the Courthouse were discussed but returned to the Auditor for more information. The matter to be considered at a later meeting. Mr. Blasienz with'the Department of Highways & Public Trans- portation was present to discuss the Farm to Market Road Program and asked for the Commissioners' recommendations, to be studied and forwarded to the State Office, for funding. Commissioner Sims recommended Democrat Crossing Road, Commissioner Stasny recommended West 19th Street from FM 2818 to OSR and Commissioner Cooley re- commended a new road to cross the Navasota in the south end of the County. On the recommendation of Bryan W. Swaim, District Agricultural Agent and on motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to appoint LeRoy Grebe, Jr., as County Agent for Brazos County at an annual salary of $3,636.00 and travel expenses of $1,200.00 per year. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the invoice of Warren and Associates for emergency room services for Jaun Coranado. } ' VOL-iPAGE -05" , Vol A/ PAGEsi~!_ Next to be considered were bids for soil conservation work as follows: ' Berry Risinger, Rq,40,3, Box 202A, Bryan, requested approx- imately 1h hours work to be-done 2~ miles from PM1179 on Steephollow Road in Precinct 3. D. D. Mathews, Bryan, requested approximately 4 hours grader work and 2 hours dozier work to be done 3 miles west of Bryan off Leonard Road in Precinct 4. Charles Gardner, Route 1, requested approximately 20 hours dozier work to be done 9 miles west of Bryan, off OSR in Precinct 4. Lucile Weherman, Bryan, requested approximately 20 hours dozier work to be done 9'miles west of Bryan off OSR, in Precinct 4. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the applications and author- ized the Commissioners to do the necessary work. .l i. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to enter into a Building Operation and Maintenance Agreement with Honeywell, 4nc. in the amount of $518.00 semi-annually for the Courthouse Annex. The Court next considered bids for a corrode and lavatory for ?l the jail. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commiss- ioner Sims the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of W. E. Kutzschbach Co., in the amount of $970.00. The other bid received was from J. E. Powers Plumbing Inc. in the amount of $1,347.00. All members being present the Court proceeded to approve the following claims as presented by the County Auditor: Probation Fund Claims 23 through 33 General Fund Claims 308 through 425 Miscellaneous Funds Claims 27 through 38 Precinct 1 Claims 47 through 73 Precinct 2 Claims 40 through 60 Precinct 3 Claims 36 through 50 Precinct 4 Claims 16 through 41 Shop Claims 16 through 30 On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay the above claims as submitted.
