M. on Monday, February 9, 1976, with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The minutes of,the previously held meetings were examined and approve without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for January, 1976: W. T. Sistrunk, County Extension Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent; Douglas Presley, County Extension Agent; Mable Walker, County Extension Agent; Wanda L. Pope, County Extension Agent. After hearing the report and discussing the matter the Court agreed that a letter should be for- warded to DHUD to keep them current on the County's program strategy. The Court further discussed the taking of bids for architec- tural services for the park and agreed that they would like South/ West Planning to present a breakdown of the park plans at the next meeting to be held on Monday, February 23, 1976. Bill McLeod, with Texas Voting Systems was present to discuss the renewal of the contract for Voter Registration Services for Brazos County for 1976-77. After hearing the status of the current voter registration and the services to be performed, Commissioner Cooley moved to accept the proposal of TVS in the amount of $10,000 per year. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wiloox, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the filing of an application for a sanitary landfill in Precinct 3 and to appoint Dr. Christopher C. Mathewson as the County's consultant and engineer. Next to be considered were applications for soil conservation work as follows: Sam Fachorn, Rt. 1, Box 242, Bryan requested approximately 4 hours of grader work to be done in Precinct 4. Dan Witt, Wellborn, requested approximately 8 hours grader work to be done near FM 2154 at Wellborn in Precinct 1. Brazos 610 Ltd., 2700 So. Post Oak Rd, Houston, requested approximately 16 hours grader work to be done along Straub Road in Precinct 1. Calvin Schehin, Box 93, Bryan, requested approximately 8 hours grader work to be done along Schehin Rd. and FM 2154 in Preicnct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to approve the applications and to authorize the Commissioners to do the necessary work. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cooley the Court unanimously voted to pay the invoice of Frank Seale in the amount of $1,361.12 for repairs to the electric range in the jail. On motion by Commissioner'-'Wilcox",„ seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to accept the bid of Parker Lumber Company in the amount of $7,867.09 as the lowest and best bid. Other bids received were from A. T. Ball Lumber Co. and Leslo Sales. All members being present the Court proceeded to approve the following claims for payment as presented by the County Auditor: Miscellaneous - Claims 10 through 26 General Fund - Claims 157 through 267 Probation Dept. - Claims 10 through 18 County Shop - Claims 9 through 15 Precinct 1 - Claims 25 through 46 Precinct 2 - Claims 20 through 39 except part B of 35 Precinct 3 - Claims 13 through 30 Precinct 4 - Claims 10 through 16 except 13 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to pay the above claims as submitted. There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
