SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 14, 1975
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County,
Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse
in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 2:'00 P. M. on Friday,
November 14, 1975, with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct,3;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
First to be considered by the Court was a Resolution supporting
the continuation of the General Revenue Sharing Program. After
reading of the Resolution and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox,
seconded by Commissioner Sims the Court,voted unanimously to adopt
such Resolution and asked that Commissioner Cooley present it when
in Washington. A copy of such Resolution is attached to and made
a part of these minutes.
On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to designate the First National
Bank as the depository to received direct deposits of Community
Development Grant Funds.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seocnded by Commissione Wilcox `
the Court voted unanimously to designate the County Auditor and
the County Treasurer to draw on the Community Development Funds
and designated the County Clerk to certify to the signature of
these two persons.
The Court next considered a maintenance agreement with the
Burroughs Corp. covering the computer equipment owned by Brazos
County. After a discussion of the coverage, Commissioner Cooley

:«dved that the County enter into. the maintenance contract at a
cost of $2,055.00 annuftly. Motion was seconded by Commissioner
Sims and carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Brazos County, Texas, has been the recipient
of General Revenue Sharing funds under the provisions of the
State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972; and
WHEREAS, such funds have enabled Brazos County, Texas,
to be more responsive to the needs of its citizens through
the expenditures of such funds in the authorized catagories;

and
WHEREAS, General Revenue Sharing has decreased local
governmental reliance on over-burdened ad valorem property
taxation for operating revenue; and
WHEREAS, the concept of General Revenue Sharing has
shifted the decision making process for a portion of the
Federal Budget to the local level; and
WHEREAS, there is now pending in the United States
Congress legislation for the provision of General Revenue
Sharing beyond the current expiration date of June 30, 1976;
now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas the governing body of such County, that Brazos
County, Texas, supports the concept of General Revenue Sharing
and urges its extension in its present form.
ADOPTED IN OPEN SESSION this the 14th day of November,
1975.
