M. on Monday, July 14, 1975 with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commisssioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County. Clerk. The minutes of the previously held meetings were-examined and approved without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for June: B. V. Elkins, County Welfare Officer; W. T. Sistrunk, County Extension Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., County Extension Agent; Douglas Presley, County Extension Agent; Mable Walker, County Extension Agent;. Linda McCormack, County Extension Agent. Luza and Charlie Salvaggio that Brazos'County'abandon a right- of-way in the John Williams League #237 and`the James Curtis League Abst. 12 being 1881 feet by 20 feet. On motion by Commiss- ioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge t9,execute a quit-claim deed for the right-of- way. Next to be discussed was a proposed septic tank ordinance for Brazos County. The Court heard from Mr.'Kirk Brown, a soil sceintist with the Soil and Crops Department of Texas A&M who made several suggestions that he felt would make the ordinance a better and stronger instrument. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner ' Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the application of Willie Milberger, Jr., Rt. 2, Box 251-A, Bryan for aid in soil conservation and authorized the Commissioner to do the necessary work. The Court proceeded to discuss the adoption of policies and proceedures for requisitioning, purchasing and claims paying for the County. After some discussion it was generally agreed that there should be a meeting of all of the elected officials to get their views before the final adoption of the policies. ' • PAG u~ - vo _ The Court next heard :a request from,the County Clerk that he -be allowed to increase the salary'of`two'deputies in that office. % - After some discussion and on motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted.to increase ,the salary of the two deputies to $2.885 per hour, effective July 14, 1975. ' On motion by Commissioner Wilcox seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve Certificates of Cancellation numbers 1301 and-1302 as presented by the Tax Assessor- Collector. The County Judge announced that under the second year Emergency Grant to the Brazos Valley Development Council that Brazos County would be intitled to purchase a modular ambulance on a 50-50 matching basis. After some discussion concerning the purchase, Commissioner Cooley moved that the County Judge be authorized to enter into an agreement, for the purchase of the ambulance at a figure not to exceed $8,500.00 for the County's share. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried unanimously. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the purchase of two International Harvester Dump trucks for Precinct 2 and 4 in accordance with bids received by Precinct 1 and 3 on February 3, , 1975. The Court next considered bids for a new electric range for the jail. After considering the bids received Commissioner Cooley, moved that the present range be repaired for a total cost of $615.06. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously.
