M. on Monday, June 9, 1975 with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. C.'s requested the en- dorcement 6f the Commissioners',Court,to build a Nature Trail in the County Park. The Court was advised that the J. C.s would pro- vide the manpower but the County would be expected to furnish the matQrials needed. After a discussion and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to grant such endorsement and appointed Commissioner Wilcox to be in charge of the project on behalf of the County. The Court next heard from several'interested persons concerning improvements to the Saddie Club property. Mr. Don Ladewig reported that there had been an earlier meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce and that the group had arrived at an approximate total, cost of $30,000.00 to restore the facilities. It was recommended that the Court appoint a governing board or a committee to take charge of the facilities and be in charge of maintenance, renting and bookings and collection of fees charged. Mr. Frank Metzer spoke on behalf of the FFA Club expressing the desire of the Club to have charge of the facilities; Mr. Ralph Ayers and Doug Presley spoke on behalf of-the 4-H Club expressing the desire of that or-, ganization to take charge of the facilities. After much discussion the County Judge announced that he felt the'Court would need time to study the budget and determine if money was availabile for the { project and if they would want to place the responsibility for the management of the facilties on one organization, and suggested that the-matter beltaken up at the June 23rd meeting. All members of the Court were in agreement with this suggestion. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner • I Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the plat of LAKEWOOD ESTATES, presented by John C. Webb, Trustee, with the stipulation that a. statement be included on the plat reading: "All septic tank and drainfield installations must be approved by the Brazos County Health,Department prior to construstion." • ,t 1 I~ I F i r C sl. WWII! 1•' On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court voted unanimously to accept the bid of Glen, Harding in the amount of $100.00 for updating 140 Bryan ISD owner- ship maps in the County Clerk's,Office. Mr. A. C. Vinzant, a member of the Arbor Day Committee of the Bicentennial Committee requested permission for that group to plant a historical tree on Arbor Day either at the Booneville Cemetery or on the Courthouse grounds. It was the consensus of all members of the Court that either location would be permissable. The Court next considered bids for the purchase of a Motor Grader for Precinct 2. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to accept the bid of Mustang Tractor and Equipment Company in the amount of $23,400.00 for a used Caterpillar 12F Motor Grader and to negotiate for the issuance of County Warrants in the amount of $23,400.00 for a period of three (3) years at the rate of interest sepcified by the County Depository in its bid. The other bid received was from Mustang Tractor and Equipment Company in the amount of $62,070.00 for a new Motor Grader. The Court next discussed the purchase of additional radio equipment for law enforcement purposes for Brazos County through 1 the Brazos Valley Devleopment Council at 25% of the bid price. After a discussion and on motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Comm- issioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge to enter into an agreement on behalf of Brazos County with the Brazos Valley Development Council for the joint purchase 1 and installation of two (2) remote consolettes and one (1) portable unit at 25% of the total cost. A copy of such agreement is attached to these minutes. ~a ;r On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner { Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the application for i~ soil conservation aid in Precinct 3 as follows: J. The Court next heard a request from B. H. Dewey, Jueti6e-. of the Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1, that the secretary in that office -be allowed to remain on the payroll on 3/4 time basis. After a discussion, the County Judge moved that the request be denied. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. The Court heard a request from A. P. Boyett, Jr., Justice of .the Peace, Precinct 7, Place 2, that due to the added,case load in his office that that office be funded on h time basis.'- After a 'discussion, the County Judge moved that the request be granted and that the salary, for the Justice of the Peace,.Precinct 7, Place 2 be set at $5,400.00 annually. Effective July 1, 1975. The Court next discussed a rural septic tank ordinance for Brazos County. After hearing from.Mr. Allen with the Brazos County Health Department, the Court asked the County Attorney to draw up an oridnance for the consideration of the Court at the June 23rd meeting. ` The Court next set June 23, 1975, at 10:00.A. M. as the date for the Public Hearing on the Revenue Sharing Planned Use Report. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Public Weighers Bond of John Rankin Mahan in the amount of $2,500.00 with American Employer's Insurance Company of Dallas as surety. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to approve Certificate of Cancell= ation Nubmers 8132 through 8135 as presented by the Tax Assessor Collector. Randy Sims - Commissio er, Pct. 3 ATT~ /57 '!:~;p n , rank Boriskie County Clerk RESOLUTION N' 1 , AtiL WHEREAS, the Brazos Valley Development Council has been given•responsi- b1lity for areawide Comprehensive Criminal Justice planning and coordina- tion of related areawide criminal justice and law enforcement matters;-and WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council has indicated a willingness ? to assist, through the Brazos Valley Development 'Council, local law { 4 • enforcement agencies in the purchase of certain radio communications { equipment for law enforcement purposes; and S k - WHEREAS, the Brazos Valley Development Council has contracted with Motorola, Inc., delivery and installation of radio communications equipment based, on a Regional Communications Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF Brazos County, TEXAS: Section I.
