County.
The Court having approved the County Depository Pledge Contract,
Commissioner•Stasny moved that the First National Bank of Bryan, be •

formally designated as the County Depository for the 1973-74 biennum..,
' The motion was seconded by Commissioner Sims and carried unanimously.

'SUBDIVISION, submitted by Gene Frierson. After a discussion Comm-
'issioner Cooley moved that the
, Plat be approved
subject to the

change showing the easement to be a "utility easement". Motion was
-seconded by Commissioner, Sims -and passedl•ananimously.
;r Mr. Fredrick Wallis of 2809 Cheery Creek Circle presented the
Court with a survey made of the District Attorney Offices in Counties
of size comparable to Brazos County. Mr. Wallis pointed out in his
s'
presentation that the Brazos County District Attorney's office was
understaffed and asked that serious consideration be given to an
investigative staff for the District Attorney.
Next for consideration was bids for a clerk's file docket and
'
fee book for the County Clerk's Office. On motion by Commissioner

Stasny, seconded by Commissioner'Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously
, to accept the low bid of Hill Printing and Stationery Company in the
amount o •

The Court gave further consideration to bids for two (2) four
drawer,.file cabinets:`; legal size,for the County Attorney's Office.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox
the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of News Office
Supply in the amount of $163.60 for both cabinets. Other bids re-
ceived were from Engineering and Office Supply in the amount of
$190.00 and Kraft Furniture Co. in the amount of $198.85.
Consideration was;next given to bids for a four drawer legal
file cabinet with lock'and ball bearing rollers for the Probation'
! Department. On motion;by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commiss-
ioner Wilcox,, the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of
News Office Supply in the amount of $165.00. The other bid being
from Engineering and Office Supply in the amount of $202.50.
The Court received a report from:the County Auditor concerning
the fiscal operation of the Brazos County Youth Program. A copy

of which is attached to these minutes.

The County Judge next anounced that due to recent surgery the
I
receptionist has used up her alloted sick leave time for the year
and recommended that her sick leave time be extended. On motion
by Commissioner Cooley,,seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court
voted unanimously to extend the sick leave time to May 19, 1975.
The Court next received two requests for aid in Soil conser-
vation as follows:
Mrs. R. T. Baggett; Route 3, Box 244A, Bryan, Pct. 3
Howard Cargill, Route 3, Box 209, Bryan, Pct. 3
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Stasny,
the Court voted unanimously to approve the two applications and

authorized the Commissioner to do the work necessary. A copy of
such applications are attached to these minutes.

Next to be discussed was the appointment of members to fill
..,'`vacant positions on the ',Board of Directors of the Brazos Valley
"
Development Council created by the results of the recently held
City elections in both Bryan and College Station. On the recomm-
endation of the County Judge and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox

,an increase in the charge for boarding prisioners for the City of,
Bryan and the City of College Station be considered. After a
discussion, Commissioner Sims moved that-"the per diem charge be,

Motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, with Commissioners
Wilcox, Sims and Stasny voting AYE. Commissioner Cooley voted NO
whereupon the County Judge announced the,motion carried.

was the general feeling of the Court that the space was not large
enough to serve his need,.
The Court next considered bids for an air compressor for Pre-
cinct 2. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner

Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to accept the bid of Central

Texas Hardware Co., Inc. in the amount of $297.50 for a 4 horse"
power compressor. Other bids received were from Sears Roebuck Co.

The Court received a request from Justice of the Peace B. H.
Dewey, Jr. to attend the;31st Annual Justice of the Peace and

Constables Association of Texas Convention in Lubbock to be held
in June. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner

Sims, the Court voted unanimously to allow Judge Dewey to attend this
' conference.
On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to authorize Commissioner Cooley
to work the employees of;Precinct 1 more than 40 hours per week as

needed.

;_'SUBJECT:-:Fiscal operations of the Brazos County-Troubled Youth Program,
TTACHMENT: Statement of transactions of Troubled Youth Program for the'
fiscal year of operations ending February 28, 1975.
t It is recommended that the Supervisor of the Troubled Youth
Program be given a petty cash fund established in the amount of $300.00
for which that person wiIll.be held accountable and responsible. The
account for that fund, 'approved by•the program director, will be
given to the County Auditor or that person's assistant at least monthly
on or before the twenty-fifth of each month. All expenditures out of
that fund will be suPPorted by bills or statements or invoices stating
the nature and the amount'of the expenditures. The fund will be
i
replenished in the amount of all those supported transactions up to
$300.00. This petty cash fund is to be used for cash transactions
needed to transact the business of the program.
i
All transactions that can be charged by the vendor to the County
should be transacted in that manner. The copy of the charge slip
signed"by the Supervisor'of the program should be given to the'County.
Auditor for that person to attach to the invoice or bill when received
i
from the vendor. The charge should be made to:

Brazos County Courthouse
Bryan, Texas 77801
Attention: County Auditor
All monies given for'the support of the Troubled Youth Program
will be receipted,by the ',County Treasurer.
