HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-03-24-1000AM-SpecialA special meeting of the Commissoners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, March 24, 1975, with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING MARCH 24, 1975 The first item for consideration was the statement of Texas Voting Systems in the amount of $7,553.50 for services rendered in connection with Voter Registration for Brazos County. After hearing the status of the new voter registration list and cards Commissioner Sims moved that such statement be approved for payment. Commissioner Wilcox seconded the motion which carried unanimously. The Court next received bids for a file cabinet and safe combination for the Probation Office. After a discussion of the needs in that office the Court suggested the Mr. Godfrey obtain bids on another type of file cabinet for his office. John Godfrey, Probation officer asked that his secretary be paid for three (3) hours overtime that she had worked on the last day of the pay period. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to pay such overtime. YOL,~PAGE~.~'A The Court next considered the approval of the County Depository Pledge Contract for Brazos County for the 1975-76 Biennium. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court-voted unanimously to approve the Contract with the First National 'Bank of'Bryan. A copy of such contract is attached to and made a part of these minutes. . VO A~PAGEaIOd The next item,:for consideration, was,.the•liability,rclaim1fo Mr. Wi? liam L.' Kirk for damages resulting to :a ' 1969 Volkswagen. After • , , consideration of.the-estimate of repairs of Beal Ford in the amount of $87.60 and of Corbusier Chevrolet Co. in the amount of $65.501, Commissioner Cooley moved that the claim be approved in the amount of $65.50. Motion was seconded by-Commissioner Wilcox and carried unaimously. Next to be considered were bids for two (2) 6x9 double drawer file cabinets for the Sheriff's Office. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the,Court'voted unanimously to accept the low bid of Engineering and Office Equipment in the amount of $35.52. The other bid received was from News Office Supply 'in the amount of $48.87. _ r I The Court considered a request by General Telephone Company ry. to lay cable in two of the County roads. No action was taken on s„ the request and asked that Mr. Cupp with the Telephone Company 'i meet with Commissioners at the meeting to be held Monday, March 31, 1975, at 9:00 A. M. On motion by Commissioner Sims,.secondea by Commissioner Wilcox, r the Court voted unanimously to approve claims 635 through 684 to be paid.out of the.General Fund. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cooley .the Court voted unanimously to approve claims 681 through 727 to be paid out of various Connty funds.
