SPECIAL MEETING
FEBRUARY 24, 1975
,A special meeting,of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County,
Texas, was held in the Commissiontirs' Courthroom in Bryan, Texas,
beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, February •24, 1975, with the
following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The first item for consideration was the bid proposals for
the County Depository which were received and opened at the Regular
Meeting. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to award the Depository Contract
to the First National Bank of Bryan.
Martin Riley, with.Spencer Buchanan and Associates, presented'
a vacating plat of LAKEWOOD ESTATES for the Courts approval. After
considerable discussion, the Court requested a certificate from a
Title Company showing that'no lots had been sold out of the subdivision
and a letter from Bill Norman stating that he had no objection to
the vacating plat.
The next matter for discussion was the consolidation of voting
precincts in the Constitutional Amendment Election to be held on °
April 22, 1975. After considerable discussion, Commissioner Wilcox
moved the voting precincts be consolidated to contain three (3)
precincts in College Station, four (4) precincts in Bryan and six
(6) in the rural area. This motion died for lack of a second.
Commissioner Sims moved that all voting precincts- be utilized since
this will be the first countywide election since the realignment _

of the voting precincts. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Sims,
with Commissioners Sims, Wilcox, Cooley and the County Judge voting
AYE. Commissioner Stasny voted NO.
Mr. Bob Wimbish presented the preapplication for Community
Development Program funds for the Court's consideration. After
hearing the application and project description explained fully,
Commissioner Wilcox moved that the County Judge be authrozed to;
sign the preapplication. Commissioner Cooley seconded the motion,
with Commissioenrs Cooley, Wilcox, Stasny and the County Judge voting
AYE. Commissioner Sims abstained from voting.
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox,
the Court voted unanimously to approve claims 389 through 480 to
be paid out of various funds, and claims 59 through 61 for Precinct
1, claims 59 through 69 for Precinct 2, claims 28 through 35 for
Precinct 3, and claims 2 through 6 for Precinct 4, that were presented
by the County Auditor for payment.
There being no further business the Court adjourned.
The foregoing minutes were examined in open Court and approved on
the 10 day of March , 197 5
