HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-12-30-1000AM-Regular1 t i i i voj-\ PAGE~j/ SPECIAL MEETING - DECEMBER 30, 1974 A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in'the Commissioners' Courtroom in Bryan, 'Texas beginning at 10:00 A. M: on Monday', December 30, 1974, with the following•present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Bill Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct # 1;' Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct # 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct # 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct # 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk, The first item for consideration was the payment of the Judgment in the case of Vincin Campise vs. J.-W. Hamilton, et al. Motion,was 1 - I made by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims to pay said judgment in the amount of $2,260.00 out of'the General Fund and carried unanimously. The Court next considered a resolution supporting the enactment t of legislation providing for state-wide probation service. After a I { discussion and on motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner, Sims, the Court voted unanimously not.to support such a bill. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox,; as follows: the Court voted unanimously to set the bonds of the incoming officials County Judge $5,000.00 County Clerk $5,000.00 County Treasurer $10,000.00 The Court proceeded to the consolidation of certain Bank Accounts for Brazos County. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by 'Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously agreed to transfer the balance's F as of December 31, 1974 as follows: Farm to Market and Lateral Road 1967 Fund: Farm to Market and Lateral Road 1968 Fund: Farm to Market and Lateral Road 1969 Fund: Transferred to ROAD AND BRIDGE DEBT SERVICE FUND. - Interest and Sinking Fund: Highway 6 By-Pass Fund: Transferred to CAPITAL PROJECTS RETIRED ROAD BONDS FUND. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of George L. Webb, Insurance in the amount of $11,277.70. The other bid received being from George K. Mall'ard Insurance Agency in the amount of $12,038.00. The Court proceeded to establish a uniform pay schedule for all Brazos County,employees. 'After a discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Stasny to pay all employees on the first and fifteenth day of each month, with payroll reports to be kept on a twenty-eight (28) day cycle. The motion was,seconded by Commissioner Cooley, with Commissioners Cooley and Stasny voting AYE. Commissioners Wilcox, Sims, and the County Judge voted NO, whereupon the County Judge announced the motion had failed. Commissioner Sims moved that the County pay schedule be set every two (2) weeks on Wednesday. Commissioner Wilcox seconded the motion with the County Judge, and Commissioners Wilcox and Sims voting AYE. Commissioners Stasny and Cooley voted NO, whereupon the County Judge announced the motion carried and the pay schedule is hereby set. There being no further business, the Court adjourned. The foregoing minutes were examined and approved in open Court on he 13th day of January, 1975. William R.
