REGULAR MEETING - SEPTEMBEIR 9, 1974
A-regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County
Texas was held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the Courthouse in
Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, +
September 9, 1974 with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct- # 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct # 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct # 3;
IT, A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct # 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk;
The minutes of the meeting held August 12, 1974,
were read
and approved without change.
The court received, approved=and ordered filed as submitted
the'following reports for August:

The Court received, considered and approved the following reports

.The first item for consideration was a duplicatiing machine for
the County Clerk's Office. Having received bids from Otis McDonald's
for a Litton Royal,Bond Copier and Xerox Corp. for a Xerox 4000, the
Court discussed the matter and deferred action until a later meeting ;
The County Judge next brought up the matter of payment for Jurors
who actually serve in County and District Court. On motion by Comm-
issioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court-voted
unanimously to,-pay $10'.00 per day for days actually served as jurors
in either -court

• Bookmobile for the Bryan Public Library in the amount

further motion was made and seconded to pay the County's annual con-
tribution to the Library in the amount of $2,000.00. This payment
r to be made from the Revenue Sharing Fund.
The County Judge next presented a letter from Dr. Wesley Summers
requesting permission to use the Brazos County Bus Sheds for housing
the Bryan school buses. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by
Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to adopt.a resolution
granting the right to use the buildings and land for such purposes

with the understanding that Brazos County would incur no obligation,
t' for utilities, maintenance, insurance or other items.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner

Stasny, the Court voted unanimously to pay the expense of Foster
Care for the month of August in the amount of $1,555.75.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Stasny, the Court voted unanimously to pay $1,055.00 to the City
of College Station for fire calls for the month of August.
I The Court next discussed the purchase of uniforms for the
Sheriff's Deputies. Having received only one bid and after a dis-
cussion, the Court requested the Sheriff to get another bid,

The Court next considered bids for new refrigeration equipment
for the jail. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner
Stasny the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of Lilly
Ice Cream in the amount of $676.50 for a 40 cubic foot unit. The
other bid being from Readfield Restaurant and Hotel Supply in'the
amount of 975.00.
The next item for consideration was the bids of W. E. Kutzschbach
Company and Quintero Plumbing and Heating for installation of drinking
fountains in the jail. After a discussion the Court deferred action
until a later meeting.
Commisssioner Sims next made the motion that the Sheriff be
allowed to supplement his food supply from local merchants with the
stipulation that the items so purchased not be available from whole-
salers and that such authority be utilized only in the event of an
immediate necessity. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny
and carried unanimously.

The Court next considered the purchase of drapes for five windows
in the Courthouse. Having received only one bid the Court deferred
action until more bids could be obtained.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Sims
the Court:vct-ed'unanimously to purchase an IBM Correcting Selectric II
typ?, n iter , for -$,585,',00.
Commissi.:iner.'Sims.next presented the Court with two bids from
personsiinterested~in•p'urchasing an International Harvester junk
truck.from the;County. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded
by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to accept the highest
bid in the amount'of $50.00 from Al Burcik.- The other bid being in
the amount of $41.25 from Michael Locke.
On motion duly made and seconded the Court voted unanimously
to approve all bills whibh have been properly filed and approved.
There being no further business the Court adjourned,
