The Court first proceeded to canvass the returns of the
Constitutional Amendments Election held Tuesday, November b,• 1973,'
and found the total results as follows:

On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny,
the Court unanimously voted to approve such results as the official
results of Brazos County, ordered the same certified to the Secretary
of State of the State of Texas, and filed in the official returns
of elections by the County Clerk.
The Court next considered the matter of exemption of Brazos
County, Texas, or a portion thereof, from the regulations concerning
the application of herbicides. After hearing from many interested
citizens, both for and against the proposal, Commissioner Stasny
moved that the following protion of Brazos County be exempt from
the provisions of H. B., 402, Acts of,the 53rd Legislature, 1953,
Regular Session:

That portion of Brazos County lying east of a line described as :r
~u follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of State Highway No. 6 and OSR, which,
point is on the north boundary line of Brazos County;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction along OSR to its intersection with
an unnamed gravel road approximately one mile ,north of FM-1687;
THENCE in'a Southeasterly direction along said gravel road to its
intersection with FM-1,687;
THENCE Easterly along FM-1687 to its intersection with a gravel road,',,
known as Stasny Road;
THENCE Southwesterly along Stasny Road to a 90°'turn and continuing
in a'Southeasterly direction to its intersection with State Highway 21'
West;
THENCE along Highway 21 in a westerly direction to•its intersection
with Silver Hill Road;
THENCE along Silver Hill Road generally in a Southeasterly direction
to its intersection with FM-1688 (Leonard Road);
THENCE Northeast along FM-1688 to its intersection with Jones'.Road;
THENCE in a Southeasterly direction along Jones Road to its intersection'
• with FM-60;
THENCE Northeast along FM-60 to its intersection with the Southwest
property line of Easterwood Airport;
" THENCE SE along the Southwest line of Easterwood Airport'to the most
Southerly corner of the Airport property;
THENCE in an easterly direction along the most direct line to-the
Closest point on Dowling Road;
THENCE NE along Dowling Road to its intersection with an unnamed gravel
road extending from Dowling Road to the town of Wellborn;
THENCE SE along said unnamed gravel road to its intersection with FM-2154
at the-town of Wellborn;
THENCE generally South and Southeast along-FM-2154 to itg,',intersection
with State Highway 6;
THENCE SE along State Highway 6 to.it6 intersection with the Navasota

Commissioners Court, Regular Meeting, November 12, 1973......
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and Commissioners
Wilcox, Stasny, and the County Judge voted AYE. Commissioners
Sims and Cooley voted NO, whereupon the County Judge announced
that the motion had carried and would be certified to the
Commissioner of Agriculture for the State of Texas.
On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Sims, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of $295.00
each for three filing cabinets, two for the District Clerk and
one for the County Clerk.
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Stasny
R
. the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of the Burroughs
Corp. in the amount of $393.59 for an electronic calculator for the
County Auditor.
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner
Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of Texas
Voting Systems, Inc. for the purchase of 50 additional voting
machines for the total sum of $8,400.00.
On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay the expenses of Foster
Care for the month of October in the amount of $654.44.
On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay the City of Bryan $299.00
and the City of College Station $70.00 for fire calls for the month
of October, 1973.
The Court considered a plat of BALD PRARIE submitted by B. B.
Scasta and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner
Sims approved.same.for-filing with the understanding that the
County would be under no obiigation to build, construct, or maintain
any of the streets or roads in said subdivision,
The Court next considered a proposal submitted by Big Creek
Water Control Improvement District asking support for the elemination

of the imported fire ant in the south part of Brazos County.

a program was available on a 50% Federal, 25% State 2

On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox,
the Court unanimously voted to contribute $200.00 per month to the
salary of the director of the Troubled Youth Program through March;
1974, until the results of an application to the Criminal Justice
Council can be received. 1
