M. on Monday, March 12, 19739 with the following present: I' William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; ~((e Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct # 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct # 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct # 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct # 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The minutes of the February 12, 1973 meeting'were read and approved without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for February'1973: B. V. ' r <,rs ~'I , `~'I I,r rr. i' + 'r .n Y'.- , - , ':The Court next considered the approval of a contract with the State , Department of Public Welfare whereby the State would assume the cost of the'entire Food Stamp Program. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to,authroize the County Judge to execute such contract-on behalf of Brazos County, a copy of-same-being attached to these minutes. On recommendation of the-County Judge and on motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to reappoint Don Dale and Anastacio•Herrera as members of the Board of Directors of the Brazos Valley Development Council for three year,, to The Court next considered a request of Texas A & M University for r~s• access to Universit y property from Fin Feather Road, at a point near the intersection of said road with the F & B Road. No objection was expressed, in that the improvements on University property would include the access provision at no cost to Brazos County, and in that the location is within the City Limits of College Station. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court unanimously voted to ' pay the expenses of Foster Care for the month of-February, 1973 in the amount of $1;057.99. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat of-Forest Creek Estates, submitted by R. E. Frieda, subject to the stipulations that the County would in no way construct, or maintain the roads in said subdivision. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to pay the fire calls by the City of Bryan for the-month of February, in the amount of $192.00. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox,' the Court voted to accept the only available bid by U Rent M for scales for the sheriff's office, in the amount of $99.00. The County Judge announced that a meeting would be necessary for Monday, March 26, 1973, to consider accountants interested in the audit- of Brazos County Funds. The meeting was set for 10:00 A. M. The Court next opened bids for a new motor grader for Precinct " but unanimously voted to delay the award pending further investigation of the products by Commissioner Sims. There being no further business the Court adjourned. SPECIAL MEETING - MARCH 26, 1973 A Special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held on Monday, March 26, 1973, with all members present. The County Depository Pledge Contracts between The First National Bank of Bryan and Brazos County, Texas for County funds and School Funds were presented for approval. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve such Pledge Contracts, copies of which are attached to these minutes, and to designate the First National Bank of Bryan, Texas, as County Depository for.the 1973-74 bienneum. The-Court heard from interested accountants concerning the proposed audit of County funds. Present were Mr. Nelson Durst of Durst, Wood and Ingram, and Mr. Louis Lenz of Glenn Brewer and Associates. The Court took no action but agreed to select an accounting firm and proceed to negotiate with such firm for the desired audit. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay $850.00 annual dues for 1973 to the Texas Association of Counties and $100.00 in annual dues for 1973 to the County Judges and Commissioners Association. . On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously voted to pay $790.00as the annual premium for insurance on the BID property. The Court next considered the plat of Franklin Estates submitted by the W. T. Franklin Estate, together with a letter from the City of College Station waiving their right to approve such portion of the platted property as within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City TT-T
