HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-02-28-0900AM-SpecialH } SPECIAL MEETING - FEBRUARY 28, 1972 A Special Called Meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held on Monday, February 28th, 1972, at 9:00 o'clock A. M. in the Commissioners' Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse, with all members of the Court present. The Court considered the question of extension of the Food Stamp Program, in view of the recommendation of Governor Preston Smith that a State financed food stamp program be implemented not later than September 1, 1972. After a discussion, Commissioner Porterfield moved that the County Judge be authorized to enter into a contract with the State Department of Public Welfare, pro- viding for the operation of a Food Stamp Program in Brazos County, Texas, frbm March 1st through August 31st, 1972. The motion was second- ed by Commissioner Wilcox, and carried unanimously. , On motion'by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Nolan, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of Engineering & Office Supply for a desk and chair for the receptionist, such low bid • be ing the sum of $ On motion by Commissioner Nolan, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to accept the proposal of The Curry Office Equipment Company of Waco for the furnishing of an A. B. Dick mimeo- graphing machine for a trade difference of $703.00. There being no other business, the Court adjourned.
