REGULAR MEETING - DECEMBER 139 1971 A regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos, County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas beginning at 1000 A. M. on-Monday, November 8, 1971, with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct #1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct #2; Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct #3; y W. A. Stasny, Commissi6ner of Precinct #4; Frank Boriskie,'County Clerk. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for November 1971: B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer; William Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent; Daniel P. Kubecka, Assistant County Agricultural Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., Associate County Agricultural Agent; Barbara Sharp, Associate County Home Demonstration Agent. On-motion by Commissioner Nolan, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, it was unanimously voted to authorize the County Judge to execute such contract, a copy of which is'attached to these Minutes. t On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Nolan, it was unanimously voted by the Court to appoint Dr. Raymond E F. Buck, Jr. as County Health Officer for the expiration of the term created by the resignation of Dr. Charles H. Miller. ,On motion by Commissioner Nolan; seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve for filing a plat submitted-by Roy B. Ball with the usual stipulation. On motion by Commissioner Nolan, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve for filing a plat sub- mitted by Ray Cowart, with the usual stipulation. On motion by Commissioner Porterfield, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to accept the recommendation of the Agricultural Extension Service that Mrs. Pricilla Jones be appointed County Home Demonstration Agent for Brazos County, Texas. The next item for consideration was the request of the Brazos Valley Development Council that the Court review and comment on a pro- ject submitted by the Texas Highway Department for the improvement of State Highway 30 in Brazos County, Texas, from State Highway 6 in College Station to FM-158 near Harvey. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, second-, ed by Commissioner Nolan, the Court unanimously voted to give such project approval of the Court, and recommend,the project to the Brazos Valley Dev- elopment Council for favorable action. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wil- cox, the Court unanimously voted to pay the expenses of Foster Care for the month of November in the amount of $ On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Nolan, the Court unanimously voted to authorize-the County Judge to advertise for bids for the removal of improvements on the Patterson property. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Nolan, the Court unanimously voted to close the Brazos County Courthouse on Dec- ember 24th, 1971. The Wixon Water Supply Corporation requested that such Corporat- ion be given authority to lay its lines in,county roads of Brazos County. That Wixon Water Supply Corp. secure the 'approval of the Commissioner in whose precinct the work is to be one as to location of the act- ual work, such approval to be obtained prior to the beginning of actual construction. 2. That Wixon Water Supply Corp. repair all damage done to any road by reason of such construction, and restore the road and right-of-way to its condition prior to construction, and cause any contractor employ--. ed by it to do likewise. 3. That Brazos County reserves the right to require Wixon Water Supply Corp. to relocate any such pipe at no cost to Brazos County should same become necessary due to the widening, lowering, or other alter- ation of the roadway or right-of-way. l { On motion by Commissioner Porterfield, seconded by Commission- er Nolan, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the condemnation of the following tracts of land situated in Brazos County, Texas, for right- of-way purposes for State Highway 21, and to authorize Ronald M. Searcy Jr.,; attorney at law to proceed with the condemnation thereof: ' BEING 0. 073 acres of land, more or less, out of and a part of that certain 3. 16 acre tract of land lying and being in the T. F. McKinney Survey, Abstract 33, in Brazos County, { Texas; said 3. 16 acre tract being Tracts 23 and 24 in the E. W. ~I i t i 3ullock subdivision, Brazos County, Texas; and oeing gyre same land described in a deed from E. W. Bullock to John' C. There being no further business the Court adjourned.
