? SPECIAL MEETING - SEPTEMBER 20, 1971
1 A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County
Texas, was held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the Courthouse
in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, September' p
20, 1971, with the following present;
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; r
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct # 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of'Precinct # 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct # 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct # 4; r
The Court heard a presentation from W. T. Bono of the Texas
Department of Public Welfare concerning a revision of the contract
for Foster Care services. After discussion of the financial'
aspects of the revised contract, the Court voted to enter intot
such agreement with the Department of Public Welfare.
The Court next heard a request from the Parks and Wildlife
Department that the County furnish a radio to that department for '
use in maintaining contact with the Sheriff's department. The
'Court deferred such request to obtain prices.
The Court next heard a request that certain repairs be m3 de
to the legal aid building, which was granted.
The Court received bids for two automobiles for the Sheriff's
office. On motion by Commissioner Porterfield, seconded by
Commissioner Nolan, the Court authorized the Sheriff to purchase '
two Pontiac's for the trade difference of•$3,060.88 and $2,560.88
respectively, same being the low bids therefor.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
