M. on Monday, August 9, 1971 .:with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Raymond A. Fir r rthe Court considered the request of the Carmelite Sisters for'' Y tax exemption of property situated on West 24th Street in Bryan, 4r submitted by W. T. ~11 McDonald, and , pending development of further `i information, took no action thereon. On recommendation of the County Judge, the Court unanimously, approved the appointment of J. B. Hervey to the Board of Directors'' e ' of the Brazos Valley Development Council, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of D. A. Anderson. „ The court next heard a request from the Wllborn Water Supply z Corporation for the laying of water supply lines in County roads and on motion by Commissioner Nlan, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, unanimously approved such request, a copy of same being.*-.-;"'_' - attached to these minutes. The Court next heard a letter of resignation from Miss fir. Em.ily Ritter as County Home Demonstration Agent, upon her re- tirement from the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, effective August 31, 1971. After many expressions of gratitude from the Court,-the Court voted a accept such resignation with regret for ? the loss of a valuable worker in the field of extension work. L r On motion by Commissioner Nolan, seconded by Commissioner ' Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to request that the Board of County and District Road indebtedness forward the sum of $20,177.89 to Brazos County, for use in the construction and improvement of the County lateral roads. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner r , Porterfield, the Court confirmed the purchase of the Patterson porperty situated next door to the BLD property for the cash sum of $7,500.00 On motion by Commissioner-'Porterfield, seconded by Commisioner Nolan the Court unanimously voted to authorize a change in the', District Clerk's Xerox machine to a larger, faster machine at y I - t the quarterly cost of $195.00. On motion by Commissioner Porterfield, seconded by"Commissioner Stasny, the Court voted to authorize the payment of.$668.00 -for, expenses of foster care for the month,of July,'1971. ' The Court hear a proposal from Mr: G. A (Pete) Adams concerning the construction of a Youth Livestock Facility on the property presently owned by Brazos County, or on other suitable property to be acquired. The Court requested that the committee'~;• presently workin on the project submit further information to the Court for its consideration. The Court heard a request from J. L. Thomas for the es- ` tablishment of a voting precinct at 20th and Houston Streets, but took no action on such request. ~ On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted',,-:'- to pay all bills which have been properly filed. There being no further business, the Court adjourned. July 22, 1971 The Commissioners Court Brazos County, Texas Bryan, Texas M At F 10 doEck~ , JUL221971 FRANK 60R1SKIE gy~.ir Re: Wellborn Water Supply Corporation Gentlemen: As required by Article 1433 of Vernon's Annotated Revised Civil Statutes, and in accordance thereto, the above named water supply corporation is advising that it proposes to lay its pipes, mains, conductors and other fixtures for conducting water through, under, along,, across and over the public roads in the vicinity of Wellborn, Millican and College Station, Texas, as,proposed by extension plans dated June 3, 1971, from Duff Consulting Engineers, Inc., Waco, Texas. It is the intention of said corporation that only a minimum of lines proposed by this extension will be laid in and along county road right of ways as most of said lines will be laid on private property. This proposed extension will increase the corporation's original. system dated October 11, 1965, which was approved by the Court on November 8, 1965, and the first extension dated February 28, 1968, approved by the Court March 11, 1968. If the Court so desires, it is requested that the locations 'along said right of ways be designated where such lines shall be constructed in cooperation with Commissioner Precinct One and the Corporation's engineer. Brooks Cofer , Jr. Attorney for Wellborn Water Supply Corporation APPROVAL OF THE COURT s The WELLBORN WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION is hereby authorized to lay } its pipes, mains and conductors and all other fixtures for conducting - water through, under, along, across and over the public roads of the County of Brazos, State of Texas, at the locations designated on the Map dated June 3, 1971, of Duff Consulting Engineers, Inc., Waco, Texas. It is understood between the Commissioners Court and the said Corporation, that the Commissioners Court may require such Corporation, at its own expense, to re-~locate its lines located on any County roads so as to permit the widening or changing of traffic lanes, by giving thirty'(3O)'• days written notice to such Corporation and specifying the line or lines ,to be moved, and indicating the place on the new right of way where such, line or lines may be.placed. All water lines which may be placed under this agreement shall be placed in accordance with regulations and requirements of the State 'Highway Commission and th'e Commissioners•Court.
