M. on Monday, March 8, 1971 with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner Of Precinct #1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct # 2; Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner Of Precinct # 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner Of Precinct # 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for February, 1971: B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer; r William T. Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent; Daniel P. Kubecka, Assistant County Agricultural Agent; i Curtis•Taylor, Jr., Associate County Agricultural Agent; Emily'Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent; ;__,Barbara Sharp, Associate County Home Demonstration Agent. Such application provides for 40% of the total budget to be provided by Texas A &.M 'research Foundation through personell, professional services,,-.travel and other operative expenses and 60% to be furnished by the Criminal 'Justice Council. 11 Commissioner Porterfield moved that the application be ,approved subject to the approval of the Texas A & M Research Foundation and at not cost to Brazos County. Motion was ;seconded by Commissioner Nolan with Commissioners Nolan, ,;Porterfield, and Wilcox voting yes, Commissioner Stasny voted no. Motion carried. The next item for consideration was a request of the State Department of Public Welfare that $4,000.00 be advanced to cover the expense of the Food Statap Program for March, April and May of 1971. Commissioner Stasny moved that such funds be advanced. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Porterfield ,:h, and unanimously carried. On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted to approve the plat of Carter Lake Subdivision No. 4, in Brazos County, with the understanding that the County would be under no obligation to build, construct, or maintain any of the streets or roads in said Subdivision. r ,R The County Judge next announced the appointment of W. C.' Davis and D. A. Anderson to the Board of Directors of the Brazos County Develop Council for a three year term. The Brazos County Bar Association requested use of space -in the building at the corner of 26th street and Washington Avenue for the legal aid clinic in the present condition. ( Commissioner Porterfield moved that such request be approved. Motion was seconded by Commissioner ;Stasny and carried unanimously. The Court mext considered a request from General Telephone Company r.. to lay 1800 ft of cable along Barron Road in Precinct # 1. ' On`motion by Commissioner Nolan and seconded by Commissioner sk_ Stasny the Court unanimously voted to approve such request subject to the requirement that the owner relocate such lines when necessary at no cost•to Brazos County. 'On'motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted to'pay $777.63 for Foster Care for the month of February. 1% On motion by Commissioner Stasny, and seconded by Commissioner Nolan the Court unanimously voted to accept the low bid of 'h Otis McDonald for an Olympia Electric Typewriter for the • County Clerk's Office. The other bid being from Bryan Office Equipment for an Electric,, Remeington Rand in the amount of $438.60. On motion by Commissioner Porterfield and seconded by Commissioner Stasny the Court unanimously voted to pay the City of Bryan for fire calls in the amount of $1,074.00.
