HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-11-09-1000AM-Regularr CAL REGULAR MEETING - NOVEMBER 9, 1970 t A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, November 9, 1970 with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct No. 1; George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2; t; Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of No. 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for October: r. B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer; B. V. Elkins, Veterans Service Officer; ' William Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent; E~ Daniel P. Kubecka, Assistant County Agricultural "Agent; Curtis Taylor, Jr., Associate County Agricultural Agent; Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent; Barbara Sharp, Associate County Home Demonstartion Agent. The Court received, considered and approved the-following reports from County and Precinct Officers showing official fees of office collected and remitted to the County Treasurer according to duplicate copies of the treasurer's Official receipts attached thereto: Williamr R. " z,. The first item of business is the canvessing of the results ; of the General Election held in Brazos County, Texas, on Tuesday, P", r ~ November 3, 1970. The Court proceeded to canvess such results precinct by precinct. On Motion by Commissioner Porterfield, seconded by Commissioner Dunn, the Court unamiously,voted to certify the total votes'as the official vote of Brazos County, , Texas, in such election, and ordered such results certified by the County Clerk to the Secretary of State of the State of Texas, and recorded in the Election Records of Brazos County, Texas f in Volume D, Page 9• The County Judge next presented a request,,by the Community Outreach Center that funds be provided for a Group Therapy session for patients of that Center on the basis of one.hour per week at a cost of $15.00 per week. After a discussion of the t-udgeted funds for such Center, the Court took no further action. ' On motion r.y Commissioner Dunn, seconded'by Commissioner Nolari, the Court unamiously voted to accept the low bid of Corbusier Chevrolet Company in the amount of $2606.71, trade difference, for a 1970 Chevrolet for the Sheriff's Department. The remaining •1-'id was that of Cade Motor Company for a 1970 Mercury in the amount :.i of $2724.00; trade difference. t ~ On motion.by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Nolan, the Court unamiously voted to pay the expense of foster ; care for the month of October, in the sum of $849.35• • On motion by Commissioner Dunn, seconded by Commissioner, Stasny, the Court unamiously voted to disburse the sum of $315.74 to the Brazos County 4-H Adult Leaders Association out of the „ Permanent Improvement Fund, for reimbursement for expenses of improving the Saddle Club property owned by Brazos County, M f ' Texas -same being the amount of participation dividends received from the Brazos County Producers Cooperative on August 27, 1970.
