1970
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday
September 14, 1970 with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner,of Precinct # 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct # 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct # 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct # 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.,
The minutes of the regular-meeting held August,10, 1970
were read and approved without change.
The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted
the following reports for August:

The Court received, considered and approved the following

r Mr. Lawrence Parker representing the Boys Club of Bryan
appeardd and requested aid and assistance•in installing a parking
area on the Boys Club property on West 25th Street. The Court
agreed to furnish such assistance as it might reasonably render
without cost.
On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously
voted to approve the Plat of Shiloh Subdivision at Welborn,
with the understanding thht the County would be under no obligation
to build, construct, or maintain any of the streets or roads
in said Subdivision.
The County Judge next presented a request from the Department
of Public Welfare that $3,250.00 be forwarded for the Brazos
County Food Stamp Administration Fund. On motion by Commissioner
Porterfield and seconded by Commissioner Dunn the Court agreed
to forward such amount to be used for expenses of the Food Stamp
Program.
The Court next considered the bid for a typewriter for the
County Auditor's Office.: It.~ appearing that Cates Typewriter
Company submitted the only bid for a 19 inch carriage typewriter,
on motion by Commissioner Stasny and seconded by Commissioner
Dunn, the Court voted to accept such bid in the amount of $401.70
for a Royal Electric Model 971.
On motion by Commissioner Nolan and seconded by Commissioner
Dunn the Court unanimously voted to pay the expenses for foster
care for the month of August in the amount of $789,00.
The Court unanimously voted to set a public hearing on the
1971 budget for Brazos County at 2:00 P. M. on Monday September
289 1970 in the Commissioner Courtroom and directed that notice

be given of the time and place of such hearing as required by
law.
On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted
' to approve all reports and pay all bills which have been properly
filed and approved. ,
There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
