M. on Monday June 8, 1970 with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct # 1; George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct # 2; Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner'of Precinct # 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct # 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The minutes of the'regular meeting held April 139 1970 and the !regular meeting held May 11, 1970 were-read and approved without change. The Court next considered a request from the Texas Department. of Public Welfare that the monthly allowance for foster care of 'i children in the care of that department be increased from $40.00 per month to $60.00 per month. Commissioner Porterfield moved ; that such increase be authorized. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Dunn,and unanimously carried. The Court considered the payment of the award and expenses of the Condemnation of the Jack Boyett tract for the FM2154 under- pass at College Station as follows: $59213.35 to Jack Bo ett in Settlement of final y judgment. t, $19813.75 to Davis and Stacy,•Attorneys $500.00 to John Callihan, appraiser $50.00 to James C. Smith $90.00 Court Costs g ! Commissioner Nolan moved that such expenses be paid and that the J L i City of College Station be requested to reimburse Brazos County in the•amount of $5,750.33 representing three fourths (h) of such expeh-se•in accordame with the agreement between the City of College Station and the County. The motion was seconded by j Commissioner Porterfield and unanimously carried. On motion by Commissioner Dunn and seconded by Commissioner { Porterfield the Court unanimously voted to forward the sum of r ` $3,100.00 to the Texas Department Of Public Welfare for the Food Stamp Administration Account. Bond County Clerk's Office, Coir thouse The Court next hea rd from the Probation Officer concerning a proposed Juvknile Car e Facility at the John M. Moore School in Brazos County. Mr. Godfrey stated that it was the intnetion of the department to ap ply for a $60,000.00 grant from the Criminal Justice Counci l to finance the facility for a two (2) year period and that th e City Of Bryan School District had agreed to make the premises available at no cost to the County other than the payment of insurance premimums and maintainence. On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously approved the Bond for Public Weigher of Homer B. Adams in the Amount of $5,000.00, with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as surety. Commissioner Nolan moved that the plat of the Subdivision of Briarwood Retreat submitted by Calvin Guest be approved for filing with the understanding that the County Would be under no obligation to build, construct, or maintain any of the streets or roads in said Subdivision. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Dunn and unanimously carried. The Court next approved a cable instalation by General Telephone Company along Marino Road on the condition that the Company., agree to make any future relocations covered by the • widening or lowering of such road at do expense to the County. The Court next considered a request from J. W. Hamilton, Sheriff, that the -Salary of the field deputies of the Sheriff's Office be increased from $550.00 per month to $650.00 per month effective July 1, 1990. Commissioner Dunn moved that such salary be increased as requested. Commissioner Nolan seconded the motion which unanimously carried. On motion duly made and seconded the Courfunanimously voted to approve(*•all,-reports and pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved.
